I wonder if the losing side will claim that students were confused by the ballot and thought that 'No' meant 'Yes' and vice versa. After all, one can't expect students to be aware of such things, much like one can't expect students to stay abreast of the issues surrounding the Stroh, USG elections, and the like despite meetings, articles/notices in the school newspaper, signs around campus, etc.

"During the 24-hour period on March 27, 4,368 responses were received. We deleted 64 of these responses because they were duplicates, 195 because no PID was supplied, and 283 because the PIDs did not match our database of BG campus undergraduate students enrolled during this semester. Finally, we did not consider 14 responses where no “yes” or “no” vote was actually cast. These procedures resulted in a final eligible set of 3,812 (representing approximately 28% of the eligible voting population) votes. 2,630 or 69.0% of the responses were “no,” meaning the USG resolution should be upheld, and 1,182 were “yes,” meaning that the resolution should be repealed. Therefore, the resolution is upheld by a more than 2:1 margin."
More than a 2:1 margin!! Thats awesome!!!! This is one occasion when I will say "IN YOUR FACE!" Its good to know how my fellow students really feel......

Considering all one had to do was visit a web site for 30 seconds over a 24 hour period, yeah, it's a little disconcerting.SaxyIrishTenor wrote:I'm THRILLED for the victory, but does it bother anyone else that only 4,000 people voted?

I'm sure the losing side will make some kind of excuse and perhaps conspiracy theories will be abound, but what's fact is fact. The students have spoken, and spoken clearly. They want progress at BGSU, and very smartly on their part, they made it happen.BGSUfalcons wrote:I wonder if the losing side will claim that students were confused by the ballot and thought that 'No' meant 'Yes' and vice versa. It's 28 percent of the student body. National off year elections only get about 35% and that's much more of a public affair. I'm surprised by the 28% to be honest, thought it'd be 15-20%.SaxyIrishTenor wrote:I'm THRILLED for the victory, but does it bother anyone else that only 4,000 people voted?
