Tracy Pontius All-America HM.......

Post by Falconboy »

Great news and congrats Tracy , but how in the heck is she the only Mac player mentioned meaning that LP was not chosen as well. It is a travesty that LP is not on this list. I thought LP would be the one for a HM lock at least. For a second I thought we for sure had 2 BG players on an All-America team. That would've been probably astounding.

Did you watch the MAC Tourney? LP did not have a great games at all. In the big games where we needed her to hit shots, she couldn't her rhythm. I'm sure that had a lot to do with it.

It could also be because she's a sophomore. They are usually reluctant to give it to younger players

I'm glad Lauren didn't get named. I'd rather her not get that kind of recognition that could cause her to leave to another school.

It is a great honor for Tracy, a little surprising she got it and Lauren didn't, but not a shock. Even more surprising since neither Kate Achter or Ali Mann got AP HM (although both did get State Farm/Coaches' All-America HM).

When you think about it, the AP is a writer's poll and Tracy did come up big in the MAC tournament with a lot of press in attendance.

Whatever the reason, Tracy deserves the recognition because she had some big shoes to fill and she faced the pressure and excelled beyond what anyone could have expected.

Finally, Tracy winning this award does not take anything away from the great year Lauren had and there is no doubt in my mind that Lauren is thrilled for Tracy.

Wait...what? Why would anyone want to leave this program?

I'm going to go ahead and apply my 'take nothing that TG says seriously' policy to this one. :-D

That is awesome! Congrats Tracy. I've admitted to not being a big womens' hoops fan, but I've grown to really like it over the last 4-5 years. It's all due to the success of our gals. They made me wake up and smell the coffee.

I would like to add my congratulations to Tracy. With Lauren being a regional finalist (52) for the State Farm team, and Tracy gaining this honor, I think we are in for many more great seasons from this team.
