I though everyone should see what some idiot that wrote in had to say on SI.com.
Do you know that you are a joke? You honestly think that Bowling Green vs. Memphis is a better matchup than the Peach, Cotton or Gator Bowls? And you think Boise State-Louisville is the second-best game? Ha, ha, ha. I tell you what. You take the money made from commercials for that Division II matchup, and I will take the cash from any other of the top 14 games. And I could buy you. You are completely mad.

This may come as news to you, Nathan, but they're playing football these days in all parts of the country. Believe it or not, the players at Bowling Green, Memphis and Boise State can actually run, jump pass and catch as well as a lot of the players at ACC and SEC schools. And they don't even have to wear leather helmets! Tell you what, you have a good time watching Chris Rix tear up the Gator Bowl while the rest of us enjoy Stefan LeFors, Jared Zabransky and Omar Jacobs.

Ah, what I would call the typical "major" conference fan. To this fan, Mr. Bowling, its all about the money and the names on the field, and not about the quality of the teams or play on the field. I'm sure the Syracuse/GA. Tech or Iowa/LSU games are more interesting to this type of fan than say quality bowl games like BG/Memphis or Louisville/Boise. These types of comments just get me so fired up, maybe we'd all be better off if "major" conference teams all made bowl. Heck I hear UK and Vanderbilt would be happy play each other in a bowl.
P.S. Dayons Den, I'm sure you enjoy the leather helmet comment.
Priceless. Nice that SI replied with some intelligence - and like a real football fan.
You know, it's one thing to say that the "mid-majors" aren't as good as the BCS teams. While I don't agree with that stance, I can understand the belief that we couldn't line up with the BCS conferences.
But to insinuate that a bowl game won't be fun to watch because it involves two mid-majors is mind-boggling. I've been to many high school football games that were just as enjoyable (or more) than many college games I've attended.
The writer seems to be saying the Peach Bowl will be better to watch because there's more money at stake.
Um, OK. That makes sense.

Not directly BG related, but I liked this one too:
In your rankings of the bowl games, how can you rank the Peach Bowl so low? This game is for the State Championship of Florida (both the Gators and the 'Canes beat FSU). And the Hurricanes need this win to prevent the season from being a total disaster.

I think I speak for the residents of the other 49 states when I say, let us know how that all works out.

The players may not wear the leather but some fans do!
That is quite possibly, the greatest thing I've ever read. SI.com pwn3d that inane fan like he was using a wall hack in Counter Strike.
The FL. comment is priceless too. Fans of Florida teams forget that the rest of the country hates them.
While Im happy they all think the GMAC will be a hit (as do I), I can understand some people not buying it. but to say that Boise v. Louisville isnt top 3(if not #1), that is just crazy talk.
combined over/under of those 2 games: 275

Classic, you haxaur
I bought Condition Zero and then got banned after a month for being a hax0r. It's funny because I never cheated...I believe someone got my serial from a generator somehow but I'll agree, that was a classic line

GMAC BOWL
Bowling Green (8-3) vs. Memphis (8-3)
The official payout is only $750,000 per team, but ask Ben Roethlisberger how many millions he made off this game. This year's launching-pad subject: Memphis RB DeAngelo Williams, the best 1,828-yard rusher you've never seen.
Memphis 35, Bowling Green 31
Any intelligent fan knows there will be a lot more points than that scored and we will be on top

wow, NIU is reallly getting hammered by their bowl.....
SILICON VALLEY CLASSIC
Northern Illinois (8-3) vs. Troy (7-4)
Who, you ask, would possibly watch this game besides fans of the two teams and hardcore gamblers? Drunk bar patrons across the country, that's who. It's 11 p.m. ET the night before New Year's Eve. No one's going to work tomorrow.
Northern Illinois 26, Troy 22
Kinda pricey at about 40 bucks but definitely a fun investment for this past season. You would not believe how many comments I get during a tailgate/game.
