National Championship

Post by ffejfalcon »

Just an awesome game tonight between BU and Miami. Tough way for Miami to lose but they have a great program down in Oxford and are going to be tough for years to come....I could not help to think watching the game how tough it is to win a National Championship at the D1 level. You get so close to winning like Miami did tonight and then to have it snatched away in a heart beat just kills ya. Here is my point....BGSU has a D1 Hockey National Championship. We should all be very proud and feel fortunate that we as alum will always have that as a part of our history. During this time of questioning the life of our program, let us not forget our past and revel in what the Falcon hockey program has accomplished at the highest level of the sport. Let's use it as a building block to future success and recognize the 1984 team even more in the future!!!

It was pretty awesome to see the Bowling Green National Championship banner in DC tonight right next to the Boston University banner...

Go Falcons...

I was at the Bluejackets game tonight so I couldn't watch the game but I was getting text updates from my friend. I've gotta say, I just about lost it when I heard that BU tied it after hearing they were down 2 goals with about 2 minutes left.

I may have been mad that the Bluejackets lost, but the fact that MU lost in such dramatic fashion seriously made my weekend. Sorry J Crew U, you may think that you're better than everyone, but in reality you're all just a bunch of pretenders.

At least their student body can be happy in the fact that when they wake up tomorrow they'll still be better looking, richer and all around just better than everyone else =D> . Or wait, that's just what they think.... /Rant

Pretenders?
Really?

So actually being in the national championship game means nothing, eh?

Alright, bad choice of wording. I may hate Miami but they did deserve to be in the game. Beating Denver, Minn.-Duluth and Bemidji def. makes them worthy national championship contenders.

I despise BU, but they won, and they truly earned that win, they never quit, and thats what hard work will earn you.
Great Game.

Miami is one of our rivals, but I was sure rooting for them last night. That loss was an absolute heart breaker.

Wow, you need to get out a little more if that's making your weekend.

Believe it or not, I actually spent Friday night at Miami University with a couple of friends who go to school there. Ironic, isn't it? And Saturday I went to the Jackets game. Does that fulfill your criteria of getting out enough on the weekend?

Dave Fleming wrote a pretty good article on Page 2 at ESPN.com He is a Miami Grad and had some great things to say in this article...even threw in a shout out to Caps GM/BG Alum George McPhee about his moving all the Caps stuff out of the home locker room so that it could be used and the NCAA teams could feel at home.
