falconboy missed that one, he was at the sink pouring out his milk, just to make sure his glass was actually half empty.
That technically wasn't a ESPN game but a Regional game broadcast on BG's local channel 13 out of Toledo. I thought we were talking about true ESPN broadcast games. Just sayin.
Actually is was on ESPNU, which is an ESPN channel.

Yeah, I caught the last 45 min. of the broadcast of this the other night. I really didn't want to watch it, but I did, because its BG football on TV, but God, that was bad. Yuck.

Vs. Miami in the mudbowl when we missed the last second field goal in the cold rain. There were maybe 10 people left in the stands?

I wasn't at the GMAC bowl, but I was at the pub on campus for the game. Maybe 300 people there to start, 20 at half, and 3 at the end of the game.
6500 miles couldn't stop me from cheering on my Falcons!

That's right--33,000 plus on a day that never stopped raining. Just a couple of months ago I finally had to throw away a cup from that "Battle of Northwest Ohio"--it finally cracked. I sat on the goalline where Brian McClure threw a first-down interception into the end zone from the five. Altogether a completely miserable experience.

The California Bowl game in the mid-80s when Denny Stolz had virtually no game plan was the worst. 51-7 Fresno State. That game set the program back 5 years.

Yeah Stolz was already out the door and screwed over the players.

Bg vs WVU

Post by Class of 61 »

By FAR the worst game I EVER saw BG play was vs. W.Va. (the year that WVU was 2nd-3rd in country).
We fumbled opening kickoff, WVU recovered, ran a play for a TD...we threw a pick on our 3rd off. play, returned for a TD... We were down FOURTEEN Pts. inside of first 3 minutes of the game!

Can't remember final score, (Bad), but our "performance" was simply awful!
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

I still have one of those cups ...I was in the north grandstand. That game was a miserable experience.....as was the Fat Punter game from 1994. That one play altered Gary Blackney's karma for life

That CMU game definately flipped the program for years to come...another that comes to mind was a Moe Ankney opener at VT in Blacksberg AND we got KILLED.

I've only been here 2 years and I already have a few "worst games I've ever watched".

- GMAC vs. Tulsa: It was terrible, but for some reason insanely fun to be at (with emphasis on "insane"). We were literally going crazy watching that game.

- 08 vs. EMU: Football AND Basketball...

- 08 vs. Buffalo:
* Give up 20 point LEAD in the 4th quarter and LOSE in OT at HOME
* Play in 12 degree weather
* Watch the game as a band member as you have to try to play in this ungodly weather.
* LOSE any hope of winning the MAC

GB should have been fired right after that Tulsa game.

yeah it was me, you, and Terry there at the end

Worst games I have seen in person (started here in 05 for those who don't know):

06 vs Kent
08 vs EMU
08 vs Buffalo

Best game I have seen in person:

05 at Miami (the Miami Monsoon)
07 at Minnesota
07 vs Toledo
08 at Pitt
08 at Toledo

04 at Toledo really sucked because that was the first BG football game I watch in whole after deciding to come to BG for college. I do still remember seeing the highlights of 03 at Purdue and 03 vs NIU and gameday being here

1985 TU game was awesome too...McClure finally gets a TD against the Rockettes, (IIRC the offense had FG's only in 82 thru 84), the defense gets a shutout and the goal posts come down. It was great seeing a section of them being carried along Wooster towards downtown...
