That's how many people attended the OSU spring game yesterday. Look, I don't like the vast majority of the OSU fan base but damn, 95K for a spring game?? It broke the 92K mark set by Alabama in Nick Saban's first spring game.

They did a combo deal. They had a lacrosse game before the Spring Game to break some record I think.

Several people I know attend the OSU spring game because it's cheaper than a regular game. He brings the whole family every year. He says he couldn't afford doing that during the season. Which, I guess, I can understand.

I'm guessing tickets are also hard to get a hold of. My grandpa is an OSU alum and has been a season ticket holder since he graduated in the late 50's, but he said the system for season ticket holders is changing to a lottery and he is no longer sure he is going to get tickets each year. So ... the spring game is an opportunity to see them play live for cheap and where tickets are actually available, I suppose.

Example - my grandpa on the other side of the family has lived in Ohio his whole life. He wouldn't call himself an Ohio State fan, but he had always wanted to see them play at least once. In his whole life, he's seen one game live at the Horseshoe - OSU vs BGSU 2006, because my dad bought tickets through the BG athletic department.

A $2500 annual donation + the cost of the tickets will secure you two season tickets.

A $60 donation to the alumni association will get you into the lottery for tickets to a home game... you have a 90% chance of securing tickets that way to one home game.

When OSU goes to semesters in the near future... the ticketing situation is going to be an absolute nightmare

I'm prepared for the backlash as I defend tOSU but I read somewhere that they donated all or close to all (can't remember) of the proceeds to various organizations and causes.

Hate ohio state but if i lived in columbus i wouldnt of minded going. wasnt it like 83 degrees out? im sure it would have been a good time to go out with friends and watch some football on a nice saturday.

I believe that tickets purchased at McDonald's were $5 with $1 going to to the Ronald McDonald House and the rest going to OSU. OSU then took all proceeds from those tickets and tickets they sold and gave to local charities. I could be wrong but that is the way I understood it.

That makes sense, actually. The prices down there are astronomical but the demand is even greater.

Tickets were going for $200/ each for the PSU/OSU game last fall... I can only imagine what they will go for for the USC game... that being said... I'm putting in for my one game... and hope to score big... sell the tickets and get a HUGE new HDTV to watch instead!

Best. Plan. Ever. Instead of buying a TV to watch it, you could always make the trek to Elyria, Ohio and watch on a 22 foot projection screen with 150-200 people, drink free beer and have a ton of fun!!!
