That doesn't sound much like a move up considering the CCHA's recent appearances in the Frozen Four and whatnot...whatever...see ya Uno...I like you better as a card game anyways.

What ever, we all know the truth that the CCHA is a better conference than the W.
But I have to say I think for them to move out would be a good thing. I would rather Alaska moved out of CCHA in to the WEST. Hockey needs to seriously look at better regionalization and having teams in each region, play in that region.

But the problem right now is that programs are folding left and right. To do these re-alignments you need to not only maintain your current programs but bring in new. I'm still amazed that schools like Penn State and Kentucky haven't moved their very successful club programs up to varsity level.

This is mainly because of Title IX issues involved with adding a sport like Men's Ice Hockey. You add 20 male scholarships and you also have to add 20 female schollies.......or cut a men's program like baseball etc...
Along with the other expenses already involved in a hockey program, it becomes very prohibitive to add.
