I worry for the future of the MCB, but they seem resourceful enough up there.

The MCB has been successful in recent years. I attend each year and the crowds have been great. As you see, since 2002, the games have always involved a MAC team that's within a 2-hour drive. Also, if the bowl could ever consistently get a Big 10 team, the results would be even better as evidenced by the 60k for Central and Purdue.

REally what is the point? What is the point to have a D1 football program, spend all the money, do all the travel, for NO CHANCE in EVER winning a National Title.
That said with the uncertin economic future and with all the trends and current direction of this administration to make it worse, Bowls will go away, schools will suffer in enrollment and Schools will make cuts.
The table is set for the BCS to spin off and creating a new tier of College football above D1. They need to they could expand their number of scholarship players and leave the rest of D1 to be D1, we could in turn reduce the number of scholarships and incorporate other cost saving measures and have an inclusive play off system, and be done with it. The time is ideal to make changes to the football world.

Extend the "why are we in 1A" argument to the logical end, then BGSU should drop football, and actually all sports save one. Because frankly only Hockey seems to have any hope of a actual title.

The only reason regular seasons, conference titles, and bowl titles are in any way being made out to mean nothing, has everything to do with the mentality that nothing short of a national title is worth playing for. Which is of course utterly stupid.
I garuntee you that if all conference have a garuntee spot in a playoff, that with in 8 years you see some odd sort teams in the final and with in 12 you end up with a picture that has much more "parity" and the BCS conference as a whole would be no better than say MAC or other current crap ass none bcs now. ITs a matter of getting players, and actually having a shot at a title. Now given football in the area is going hell in a handbasket vs the SE and SW and W because they play more football and that in time is where all the best football will be.
To make an argument for all the none BCS schools to stay in D1 you MUST allow confernce Champions in to the play offs if not there is no point in playing and no point in calling it a NAtional Championship.
Poppycock. Not every conference has a right to be in a playoff, it would let any two bit league to gloom a spot for the asking. That is a political argument intended to try to generate support among conference that simply don't have any hope to win, nor motivation to move away from bowls. If a national title was always, or is presently the only reason to be in a division, then there isn't a point for most teams in any conference to bother with the sport.

AS it is D1 football and all the bowls that mean nothing are entertaining , but that is it, they determin nothing.

No way in heck. They would seed the teams, the top programs would wipe the pretenders out in round one, and the pipe-dream will die a whimpering death each year. And if an upset did happen, I see nearly no chance of a final with a mid-major in it. And you would have split titles anyway, since few would rate such a team as truly the best. Which gets back to the core point that playoffs don't actually settle anything, and serve only to create just another stunt.

Is this one of those "See if you can read it even though only the first and last letter of the words are correct" type things that they have at Jimmy John's?

Does anybody else find it interesting that the MAC has three automatic bowl tie-ins, all three of which are against BCS conferences (Big 10, ACC, Big East)? Of course, the Big 10 rarely fills their commitment to the MCB, and I doubt the ACC will frequently fill their commitment to the GMACB.

I'll never understand why college football fans want fewer college football games.

Nor do I. Why anybody would want to cut back on the number of games for a silly tournament, I'll never understand.
