okay, how about every female student that shows up topless gets in free? how's THAT for a deal!!?!
I'm not big on Decency. I do like the female students get in free w/o shirt deal.TG1996 wrote:okay, bottom 2/3rds... there has to be SOME decency around here! doesn't there? right?hammb wrote:Seems to me it'd be a lot more fun if they were missing the top half!TG1996 wrote:

No, this is simply a way to try to get those great fans like yourself and others together. By doing this, I want students to see us and be like wow, those are a bunch of random people who aren't friends who all come to the games as one just to cheer on BG athletics. I want more people at the games and if it takes t-shirts to get people excited to be there, then we need t-shirts. I in no way feel like I am better than anyone but rather that I'm trying to help our lack of athletic dedication.pardonfan wrote:no offense to you all but....
Why does everyone think they need a shirt or be in some kind of sideline club or fan club to be a great fan? Does that mean you are a better fan than other people?
This is awesome and what BGSU needs more of. I myself can count the number of games I've missed in the 9 years I've been watching BG basketball on one hand. It's the people who go to games just because their friends are there or stupid reasons like that. I want people here who like yourself, actually care about BG basketball.I am a senior and can count the number of home games I have missed on one hand. I have taken trips to EMU, Toledo, Michigan, Ball State and the Gund Arena, plus Ohio State and other places for women's games.
I don't have an orange or brown shirt that relates to basketball so this is also something I can wear proudly to the games.I wear an ORANGE shirt everytime because I am a BG fan and I root for the guys on the floor in ORANGE and BROWN.
There is something I can do about that. It's called not back down when they try to move me. I'm not the smallest person and I have every right to stand along that sideline and no one, not even campus police will move me out of the way.Ya, I would get real pissed freshman year when we would get there 2 hours early and have to wait outside in the snow for a half hour(no thanks to you mr elsasser) just to get front row seats and then watch the sideline squad waltz in during the national anthem. But there is nothing you can do about that.
The Cameron Crazies have some influence in the reason I'm doing this. If I could be at any other univeristy to be a basketball fan, it would be Duke because their passion for basketball is at the same level as mine. I would love to have a dedicated student section and I'm just trying to start something that could maybe turn out to be that. If you don't like it, that's fine. Just wear your own shirt and keep your opinion. I'm sure there are many others who have the same thoughts you do. However, like I have said in many other posts in this thread, I am not against the sideline squad or do I want to show them up. The fact is, when I was a kid watching basketball and the SS, they appeared to be the only die hard fans in the arena and that was appealing to me. Since becoming a student here, I've realized that original bunch is no more and what little kids, like myself then, look up to as true Falcon fans is gone. Are you guys doing this because you are true fans or because you are POed at the sideline squad and trying to show them up? Look at Duke. They have the best student section in the nation and they are ALL cameron crazies.
I don't care if we all stand there next to each other and unify. As long as we have fans that are at the games supporting the teams, I am fine with that. What I don't want to see is a group, that was once known for getting to the opponents, stand there and not cheer the entire game. I don't care what shirt you are wearing, if you are at a game, just support your team. The Republicans and Democrats vowed to unify and thats what would be best for a great student section as well
That is what this is all about. Supporting BG in any way you can. For some, we just found a new unique way that could maybe influence other students into seeing what BG basketball is all about.

Who is this group for?
I love that you cannot simply have a shirt for the Toledo game, but your 4 games are interesting. Is this group and Anderson Animals, or the Anderson Amimals for BGSU Men's Basketball? There are three women's games at home in addition to the three men's games prior to the Toledo men's game. I would hope that this group will extend to all sports that call Anderson Arena their home. I would love to see those shirts at Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, and Volleyball. So what gives??

Re: Who is this group for?
I would love to see more people at women's games. I will be there supporting them every game but since some of the people already getting shirts don't even go to women's games, I didn't feel the need to bring that up. Heck, I want everyone to have these shirts and be at every game but I need to see some real dedication out of them. If they can make those men's games, then in time they will learn to love women's basketball just as much as most of us do!Finally in 04 wrote:I love that you cannot simply have a shirt for the Toledo game, but your 4 games are interesting. Its all about basketball not shirts!!! I think that the shirts will make the basketball experience even better. No you don't have to have our shirt to be a true fan not at all we are just making the shirts open to everyone that will wear the shirt with pride and not just wear it as another shirt. Duke was what inspired my idea, and with the help of McMetz we were able to make it a reality. The shirt is just a shirt, it means nothing if you aren't an animal during the games, and anyone can be an "anderson animal" shirt or no shirt!

Another thing with the shirts is we don't want to just give out shirts to just anyone cause the point is to wear them to basketball games and be loud. We want to make sure that we don't get stiffs wearing our shirts, we want loud crazy fans. Anyone is welcome to have a shirt if they want one and if you just talk to myself or mcmetz we will hook you up.

I wasn't trying to make the shirts the issue. I am just saying we need to work as hard as we can to put loud, rowdy people in the seats for both men's and women's games. I will be honest with you. I will go to more women's games this season than men's games. It's not because of the having issues with the coach or anything like that. I like the women's game on the whole more then the men's game. I don't care about the shirt, I just want to see this group support both teams.

I agree there needs to be more true basketball fans at the games. Before everyone takes their shots on the sideline squad, I think that everyone needs to remember that the sideline squad (or the drunk Kegs and Eggs Crew) at the time were some of the best fans around. They were always there when or before the gates opened and were loud and definately noticable. But, students do graduate and move on and I don't think the replacements have the same kind of enthusiasm as the guys (and gals) before them. Go for it animals!!
Me too! But you can't just expect everyone to become huge fans of both men's and women's bball because of shirts. Converting students to fans takes some timeFinally in 04 wrote:I just want to see this group support both teams.
