Coach Dave Clawson phone call/Marketing Blitz......

Post by Falconboy »

Yeah, I got one two a few weeks ago and I've never bought season tickets for football only women's basketball. They must really be putting out all the stops to try and get people ramped up for football again if their going after fans who have never bought FB season tix before. Not too long after that pre-recorded message from Clawson I got a phone call from an actual person at the ticket office and/or marketing telling me about all the ticket packages and whether I'd like to buy some for this season. I wonder how many new season ticket holders will come about because of this marketing blitz?

Got the same call. Um, yeah, sorry. I won't be making that trip 6 times in the span of 3 months.

I got the call also. I'm happy to see they're pushing season tickets, but as long as they're scheduling week day games and some with 5:30 start times, there's no way I can make it.

There is always the option of buying season tickets and donating the unused tickets to a local charity. I happen to like that option. It is in the name of supporting Falcon Football. While the schedule may not be perfect, its not a big deal to eat 30 bucks and miss a couple of games that you can't make. . . in my opinion at least. Hopefully the phone calls will do more than just make us happy that the athletic department is trying. Hopefully some will decide to commit to buying season tickets.

With the slate of home games this year, its probably not going to get much better than this! Go BG!

I got an automated phone call, and I'm a student. The only thing I can figure is that I bought a ticket to the game a couple times for my fiance, but that's it. Why would I buy season tickets when I get in for free?

Which tickets did you buy, just out of curiosity? I hope you know that they have the option (if you go to the box office) of "student guest" tickets. Meaning that you, as a student, can buy tickets for your guests which are considerably cheaper than the regular tickets. I bought one for my fiancee for the Buffalo game, and it was less than $10. Not that I am opposed to giving BG athletics money, but... when one is a poor college student, every couple of dollars we don't have to spend helps.

I bought the student guest ticket. I think it was $7-$9, somewhere in there. I was just shocked that they pulled all data on ticket sales without first reading about the types of tickets sold.

Don't feel too bad. They called me for a second time with a message about me being a BG alum. So, if you've bought tickets in the past and you are an alum, you probably will get 2 calls.

I got a second call from some chick from marketing(I think the same one as last time) asking me about selecting a ticket package for this upcoming season. All I can say is damn, they sure are putting out all the stops this year. We'll see if it works. Not sure I have the dough for FB season tix as I usually save for women's basketball but this years schedule looks awfully nice.

Got the recorded call from Coach today. I was suprised at first because I'm still a student and have never purchased tickets for anyone, but then the message mentioned the Falcon Club, which I joined back in March
