Flip, was that the Marge Simpson "Whaaa" ? Just curious if I'm reading that correctly.
I thought some of it was pretty funny. Some of it was decidedly not funny as well, but you'll have that. I definitely didn't take any offense reading it.

First things first: thanks for the kind words, like "douche" and "butt monkey." I feel oh so welcome.
Guys, they're jokes. No reason to get upset. I have nothing against Bowling Green. I quite literally have done this for six different schools now (Cornell, Marquette, Memphis, Connecticut, Illinois and now BGSU). As far as I can tell, BGSU's a cool school, and I enjoyed reading up on it.
And you guys have beaten us...what, three of four times? I didn't even bring that up; in fact, little to none of my piece has anything to do with football. Not sure why you'd all of a sudden point to that.
If given the opportunity, I'd write just as ridiculous (if not more) stuff about Mizzou. I mean...I photoshopped a picture of a Zulu warrior onto the head of Gregg Brandon. I think that alone should tell you how seriously you should take it.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to Mizzou's game against BGSU.
If you have any questions about the HUMOR piece that I wrote for the sake of HUMOR, I'd be happy to answer them. HUMOR.[/url]
Welcome to AZZ. I'm one of the ladies who read and post on this board regularly. I thought your HUMOROUS piece was...well, rather HUMOROUS!! Most of the time, the posters on here like that "tongue-in-cheek" kind of humor. Not sure why some got their feathers so ruffled! Thanks for stopping by!
GO BG!!!
FALCONS FOREVER!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

The author must not remember the games from 2001 and 2002.
Without going through the comments, I thought this was -on the whole - a serviceable bit of satire. Not the finest bit towards BG, but I suppose it was smirk-worthy in a areas.
I suppose I may be a little over-critical today.

Sheesh folks, I thought it was kinda funny. Was it drop dead hilarious? No, but it was amusing. It was clearly meant as a joke, I got that right from the "Better Know An Opponent" which I'm assuming is a adaptation of Stephen Colbert's "Better Know A District" series on The Colbert Report.
Just a little bit of satire written by a guy who threw it together I'm guessing pretty quickly. Pretty cool.
And I certainly was far from offended. No harm done on my end.
I'd have to say though, I'd wonder what some of you folks would say to whomever was responsible for writing this:
footballguy51 wrote:I see in the comments that people posted a recap of the last game, where Mizzou came to BG and got hammered.
One of my favorite games of all time...especially when Mitch Hewitt snagged that INT and took it to the house to get us over 50...man, we effed them up BiG time that night.
"BOWLING FREAKING GREEN???" Remember their fan site after the game? Guys were like "This wasn't Nebraska we lost to...it was Bowling Freaking Green".
3-1...we own you, fellas. I have a pretty good feeling it will be 4-1 after 9/12.
GO FALCONS!!!
That was my wedding day. At the reception, we were constantly getting updates on the score. I had the DJ announce the final score.
Looks like quite a few Missouri faithful remember the 2001-2002 games. One of the commenting posters referred to the '02 smackdown as the Massacre in Bowling Green. Pretty accurate really.
It just kills me to look back at the days where the Doyt was virtually impenetrable for opposing teams. This decade! We were 9-10 in the 19 games I saw us play there as a student!! WTF?!! That needs to CHANGE.
