Huge Commitment

Post by rocketfootball »

You guys just got a huge commitment from three star QB Caleb Watkins of Middletown, OH. He had offers from most of the MAC. He just committed to BG about 30 minutes ago.

Congrats!

We've got a bit of a pipeline going from Middletown. Also in that group are Blaec Walker and Chip Robinson, two really good freshmen offensive lineman, and from a little earlier, Chris Wright, who was an option QB at Middletown. Let's keep this pipeline going - Wright sure turned out well and I expect Walker and Robinson to both be excellent when they start.

You may all now return to your daily lives.

Seems we will have a stable of QB's...should be interesting to see who wins the job after this year. Looking forward to Tyler's SR season. Hard to believe he's a SR...bring home the MAC title, bro.

RF, thanks for the info. Great news...

Since RF won't do it, I'd like to point out that the final two schools in the running for young Mr Watkins were BGSU and Toledo. So while it may be accurate to say that he was offered by most of the MAC, it is more accurate to say he picked BG over Toledo. Proving to all that he is truly a young man of distinction, intelligence and doubtless good breeding. I expect him to make quite the splash at the fall cotillion :-)

This may be a bit of a stretch for the joke, but it may be engineering for GIants

Wow Flipper, nice job of taking news and trying to rub it in the face of the person that gave you the good news. I always new you were classless like your buddy RWT.

Yes, he did indeed tell the writer of the story a few days before his commitment that he was down to Toledo and BG. What is even more astonishing is that Toledo was in his top two despite the fact that he hadn't received a call or mail from UT coaches in over two months. I'm sure the writer of the story  didn't want to add that in the article since it made Caleb kind of sound stupid that one of the schools in his final two didn't appear to be recruiting him anymore. And of course the fact that in Caleb's subsequent interviews with the Cincy Enquirer I believe it was and with Rivals he did not say a word about picking BG over UT.

Sorry for having to tarnish things like that, but Flipper seemed to want the truth out.

Next time Flip, just be happy that I gave you good news and talked it up. Some of you BG fans make it so hard to be nice and give you a bone every once in a while. :-D

Mr. "Thinks he knows it all" strikes again! Always has to have the last word. I guess if we really wanted to know, we would subscribe to his little piece of the net, that hasn't had a post on their forum for a few weeks!

And that rushing sound you hear is the joke flying over RF's head yet again.

RF has got to be the biggest hypersensitive crybaby this side of Brett Favre or Danica Patrick.... :-)
