Thunderstorms for GMAC Bowl
Thunderstorms for GMAC Bowl
The Weather Channel is saying 80 percent chance of thunderstorms in Mobile for tomorrow's GMAC Bowl game. It looks like the percentages of heavy rain will increase as the day goes on. I hope for the players and fans that the rain can somehow hold off or at least be light. I know there's nothing any of us can do about the weather, but this game has a lot going for it with two exciting teams and I'd hate to see something like weather become a major factor in it.

Actually I like our chances in the rain. It takes the element of killer speed away from Williams in their backfield. I like getting a breakaway runner on a muddy field.
Plus, our receivers know where there going to cut on their routes. The opposing d-backs have to anticipate and react quickly on unsure footing. I remember watch Bradshaw and the Steelers of the 70's turning inclement weather into an advantage for them.
It's also hard to generate a pass rush in soggy turf conditions, which should give Omar time to throw. Hopefully he can grip the ball.
I see the rain as an advantage for US not them.

Stadium had Field Turf installed in July.

This limits the effects of inclement weather on speed. Footing will be an issue but turf still plays fast in rain.

It is Time!
Yeah, Ball State I remember that my whole left side had iced up in the 2nd Quarter....weather not much of an issue when you are used to freezing temps AND wind!
