"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Upcoming season

Post by FlagCityFalcon »

Man, I'm getting so pumped for this season....I can't wait to see the "new" tem coach paulch and the guys will be putting on the ice this year. I've also noticed (from cheisenber's site) that he's still bringing in players...I'm sure there's a competition motive there (and I've thought our numbers were down in the past (aka...buddy days - NOT a slam on buddy, I loved the guy).

Can we play Hockey next weekend?
"Eyeball to eyeball, I said, 'Dr. Cartwright, don't put me in this position if you plan on dropping hockey. That won't happen as long as I'm alive. I'll fight that to my grave." - Jack Vivian

We will be a power again!

Go Falcons!

I know what ya mean!! I am SOOO pumped about this upcoming season!! The hockey schedule posters came out today...THEY LOOK FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! (Have they EVER been out this early???) I talked with the strength coach, Matt Messaros and he is very happy with the work ethic the boys have displayed all summer long!! I think he has worked their butts off, personally. Competition for a spot on the roster is going to be fierce, with the number of incoming kids!!

This summer has just flown by for me, but the hockey season just isn't getting here fast enough!!! I am ready to drop the puck, chuck!!!!

The hockey team has gotten progressively better in my previous three years at BG. This year I definately think that we can host a first round playoff series. We finished last year strong and may have hosted one last year, if not for a slow start.

Also, I love that we got some more size on our team. That was one of my main qualms about our hockey team. Seeing them play teams like OSU and Michigan State, who have huge lineups, was painful sometimes because they were so big and could really wear you down with their physical play.

I doubt if we will be "worn down" by anyone after the workouts and work ethic the strength coach has put them through since he got here. Pre-season strength and conditioning should have started this week. We have a great strength coach in Matt Messaros and they guys have REALLY responded to him! They will be starting the season in the best shape a Falcon Hockey team has been in.....ever!!!! :supz:

We WILL host home ice this year, I have NO DOUBT!!!!

FALCON FACE-OFF

The INTERESTING part will be watching all the Nay-Sayers eat their words when we vault up the standings. Hardly ANYONE on the USCHO board is giving us a second thought in the pre-season prediction threads. This is fine with me, we will EARN their respect!!! :D

it's good to hear you guys think you'll be "back" this year. i think we'll be down a bit from last year's second place finish, but we should still compete for home ice. as i mentioned on a different thread, michigan could have one of their best team's ever this year and msu will also be good with jim slater returning for his senior year.

for the record, here's a link to a couple sketches of miami's new rink opening at the start of the 05/06 season.
