Well, I was too. Now , maybe not so much as before. You can mark this season down as a wash as far as I'm concerned. If you wanna berate me for that opinion go right ahead, but none of you can tell me with a straight face that we compete for anything this year. Basically , '09/'10 is another rebuilding year.
you make me sick to my stomach... all I ask is please don't even show up to any men's game, i dont' want to see your face.
This is the BGSU mens basketball team. Not the Chris Knight basketball team. Yes he was suppose to be key part of this team, but the season has not even started. Things will have to change now I'm sure, but they are a team and from what I have seen from many of the returning players is they know how to play as a team. Let's wait to the season starts before you call it a wash and rebuilding year.
I try to keep quiet to your stupid posts but you really got to me on this one...

Did you look up from your half-empty glass of Shirley Temple to notice last year's team winning the MAC regular season CHAMPIONSHIP?

And you wonder why people rip you to shreds everytime you log in.

Yeah, should've said it'll be several years before we see a championship caliber team AGAIN. Last year was a bright spot in a year where didn't expect too much. This season's expectations are virtually non-existent as far as I'm concerned. It's not glass half-empty , it's just reality the way I see it.

Can we please not quote him again? Thanks. I have him on my ignore list and don't have to read the crap he says until someone quotes it. If we all ignore him, we don't have to feel like Christopher Walken in Joe Dirt every time we read his garbage.

This is VERY disappointing news for me as Chris was my favorite player on the team. I had the opportunity to share some time with him off the court and it’s sad to know his days as a Falcon are over. What’s more, it just continues to eat me up watching the number of players who continue to leave BG (for whatever reason) increase in recent years. Yes, I am fully aware of all the various scenarios that results in the departures, but I am just so sick and tired of it happening at the rate and the consistency that it does at BG….

Well as for me...I'm still excited for basketball season and Chris Knight transferring is not going to change that. To call this season a "wash" already is absurd. This team can and will overachieve under Coach Orr. We saw that last year. Scott Thomas showed flashes last year as a Freshman and I think he will be a huge contributor this year. We have some great new players to look forward to with Luke Kraus, Danny McElroy, and A'uston Calhoun. Let's be honest...Coach Orr led a team that talent-wise had no business winning the MAC Championship last year and won it. I'm behind him and this team 100% for the upcoming season. See you in AA.

I'm with you man, I would be worried if we didn't have guys that could replace what we lost from Chris, but IMO we have 4 guys that could potentially replace what Chris brought in Thomas, McElroy, Calhoun, and DaVon Haynes (if he doesn't redshirt)

Agreed.

Chris is a talented player and he'll be missed, but I have faith in coach Orr to lead what he has. Next year was likely to be a rebuilding process anyhow losing what we lost from our seniors. Even still, it's a long season, and by the end of it you never know how a team will develop. If the kids that are coming in are as talented as we're led to believe, I think we'll be okay. I wasn't expecting another Championship anyhow, but to say that it absolutely cannot happen (in AUGUST!) is a bit absurd.

Some of us are jumping to dramatic conclusions about Knight, Orr, and the future of the program based on this tidbit. The release show everything that we know. Let's relax.

This might mean that we have two schollies...did Orr put Goins on scholarship? (He deserves one, IMO. He'll compete to start.)

Knight had gaudy numbers in prep school and Dakich praised him lavishly (as he did Eyink and Klassen). Knight had a tremendous series in Cincinnati to begin his career. Frankly, he hasn't done sh1t since then and he has seemed asleep, lazy, and completely unmotivated. To think he was going to take off was wishful thinking somewhat. We won't miss him at all.

Furthermore, consider who we'll have on the front line: Polk, Marcshall, Calhoun, Haynes, Larson, Thomas, and McElroy. We're still deep!

Let me be the next to jump on the JimmyZ bandwagon. I hate to see people transfer - there is just something unsettling about it. But, to me, this isn't a hudge loss. Between suspension and injury CK really wasn't that much of a factor in last year's CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON (that won't get old anytime soon). Sure he had some nice games, but he never really seemed to get it going. The team still has plenty of vets with plenty of experience - OP, Larson, Marschall and JoeJak.

They haven't kicked a football yet, but I'm already hoop dreaming. Ahhhh.

Chris was one of the more highly rated players we've had recently, however, make no mistake, had he not had academic issues coming out of HS would BG had even been in play for him?

Dan took a chance on a lot of these kids and very few if any, don't have time to look it up right now, paid off in the end.

Best of luck where ever he ends up, but I'm not shocked either.

Coach Orr needs to get guys that fit his system and unfortunately Chris wasn't one of those guys.

A freind of mine who was a huge BG fan  used to say "Football season is a pretty good warmup for basketball season if you can't have basketball year 'round"! And I couldn't have agreed more.
