In case you missed it during the year, the Senior Gift for the Class of 2009 is still going. This year we decided the default destination for the money should be the Sustaining Tomorrow's Scholars program, which helps to support student scholarships that are in danger because of the current economic situation. All of the money, rather than creating an endowment (which could then end up in danger just as the current ones are), goes directly to paying off scholarships.
Donations can also be directed to any program or affinity group you would like (ie: student organization, athletics, etc.).
Another option which may be ideal for members of this site is to join the Falcon Club via the Burke Badenhop Challenge, which gets you a year-long Young Alumni Membership for $25 - half of the normal cost. Burke has pledged to match the $25 membership cost for up to 100 new members. The program (according to the Falcon Club's site) has reached 75 members so far, so if you want to take advantage of the lower cost, do it soon!
If you would like to make a gift, get more information, or download a pledge form, please go to http://www.bgsualumni.com/senior. You can also feel free to ask me for information.
I understand that money is tight for everyone right now, and that major donations are beyond the reach of most people. That's fine. Even the smallest amounts help, and donations can be made in any amount and can be paid off over a number of years. I've chosen to pay mine off over 2 years.
And, one last bit, if you're interested in picking up one of the "Stroh Yeah!" shirts, we still have some left in various sizes. Let us know. All of the donations we receive for the shirts are going to the Stroh Family Endowed Scholarship through the Class of 2009 gift.
(You can also donate on behalf of the Class of 2009 even if you're not an '09 grad!
