Rice?
Re: Rice?
I think someone after the last scrimmage said he was playing DB or Safety.cowboyjoe wrote:I am praying to the skies above that I didn't see Jason Rice on defense today. Please tell me that I was seeing things.

Re: Rice?
I read someplace he moved back to LB. He was a fan favorite at RB, but maybe he's better at LB. Besides, he's the type of guy that just wants to win - said that after the Kent game that he wouldn't mind being put anyplace on the field, as long as he helps the team win.

Re: Rice?
We saw him on the third team defense as a linebacker. I haven't yet talked to Clawson about that but am planning to next week.
As nice as the press box was, I'm loving being able to root for the Falcons now. Too bad I have to do so from Illinois.
Re: Rice?
You never know - with how much more we plan to run the ball this year and keeping in mind that Clawson wants to redshirt as many freshmen as possible, Rice may get back in at RB sometime. Maybe he was just a one game sensation, but he sure looked great vs. Kent. I remember one of those runs he took the Kent State defense for a five yard ride before they finally brought him down.

Jason and Giovanni Filarri both wear 27.

Re: Rice?
22--Rice was playing on defense on Saturday. Our young running backs must be really something if they have moved Rice to 3rd team linebacker. If not, those are the kinds of moves that will for sure get a team to the bottom ten in the country in total offense.

Can we please please have a little faith in that the coaching staff WHO SEE THESE GUYS PERFORM EVERY SINGLE DAY will put them in the best possible situation for them and the team to succeed???cowboyjoe wrote:22--Rice was playing on defense on Saturday. Re: Rice?
cowboy...maybe you should start a thread called "cowboy's gripes abut Clawson" or "Gee, I miss Gregg Brandon" and put these little complaints in one place. If you're this torqued about a position switch for a back up RB...I can only imagine what angst you will suffer through when a real controversy arises...

Re: Rice?
Wasn't Rice originally a walk-on?
No disrespect to him, we all loved his play and heart, but I certainly do hope that our RECRUITED (some by Greggggg himself) running backs are higher up on the depth chart than Rice.

Re: Rice?
Seriously, you are talking about the third string RB being the difference in the offense being able to score points?
