Tattoo help/suggestions
I've decided that I'm going to get a BG tattoo this fall. Since I was Freddie back in 1990-91, I've decided to go with the old-school "L7" logo, since that's the logo during "my" time.
So my question is, could any tattoo artist do this for me with a quality original, or should I have it done in BG by an artist who has probably done it many times before?
If I should get it done in BG, who can recommend a place? Assuming there is a place?

Family members, much to the dismay of their parents, have had some pretty nice ink done at the place on main in BG- get one of the more experienced guys/gals but I've seen people getting the LZ tatoo while I was there. They look horrible and I would never recommend anyone getting one but its not because of the quality of the art- its just that BG logos look horrible. The art is actually pretty decent. The one I mean is right by Finder's.

FF,
I just got a new BG tattoo a month ago...I highly recommend Kenny at Permanent Ink in Cortland. Yeah, it's 2-3 hours from BG in the Warren area but the dude is the best.

Re: Tattoo help/suggestions
I got mine done at On the Edge, and I wholeheartedly endorse them. I've been in some dive ink bars with friends, but they are very professional there, and it almost felt like being in a doctors office the rooms were so clean. My tattoo is of my family crest, not BG related, but it was a rather intricate design and came out perfectly.cph2133 wrote:h2oville rocket wrote:Family members, much to the dismay of their parents, have had some pretty nice ink done at the place on main in BG- get one of the more experienced guys/gals but I've seen people getting the LZ tatoo while I was there. Now that you've mentioned this, I just remembered that I need to stop by there sometime this year to get mine touched up. Thanks!

LOL
I can also endorse On The Edge in BG, though the guy who did my ink left some time ago. Make an appointment with the owner or his wife and you're golden.

The owner and his wife are no longer together. I think she now owns the one down in Findlay and he kept the one in BG. I used to work at Junction so I know quite a few of the guys at On the Edge. They've won numerous awards and like it has already been said, is as clean as a surgical theater. Can't recommend them enough.

FormerFreddie, I don't know what area of the state you are in, or if you're even in Ohio. We're lucky here to have a lot of great tattoo studios. I recommend Permanent Productions in the Cincinnati area, VooDoo Monkey Tattoo in Cleveland. The Sandusky Tattoo Company in Sandusky is new, but I can vouch for their artist's work. I would look at the artist's work and see if his or her style matches what you're looking for. Most studios have web-pages with examples of past tattoos.
Don't rush it either and be polite, the last thing you want is a pissed-off tattooer working on you. Tips are greatly appreciated.
