I don't know how he can miss Gregg...I think they are one and the same person...sheesh....I've never seen anybody with such a man crush before in my life.

Cowboy, you seem to forget the horrible leg fracture that Jason suffered last year. I would assume he can't cut like he used to, therefore the move to linebacker. If he was that good, do you think Coach Clawson would have moved him to defense? Give the staff a little credit.

We would "assume" that he can't cut like he used to, yes. But we "assumed" that Tennessee was going to score more than 7 points at home against Wyoming last year as well. If his leg is that bad that he can't play the running back position how is he going to be in on tackles and running sideline to sideline every play? Yes Barnes was the best option at QB his freshman year---if you remember we led the league in rushing that year because we had Turner at QB. Rice being moved to defense should be on the 11:00pm local news. He brought unbelievable excitement to all of us every time he touched the ball last year.

Quoted from Jason Rice before the Ohio game last year when asked about playing time:

"I hope so. I'd love to play more, but Chris Bullock is a great back and Anthony Turner is awesome. Everybody wants to play, but you've got to know your role and I know mine."

Sounds to me like a guy who just wants to help the team win. If that means he plays defense, that means he plays defense. If you were to ask him about moving, I doubt he'd throw anything of the fuss that you are throwing at us.

He was a game-breaker on offense. He could "take it to the house" from anywhere on the field. He may be humble and that's great. The bottom line is that the coaching staff needs to get the playmakers on offense the ball. He was a playmaker and outside linebackers do not get to make plays on offense.

Stop...please for the love of God and all things holy stop...Rice is not and was not Barry Sanders. He was a 4th string RB who blew out a leg. He's now a 3rd string LB....wow...look at that, he's moved up on the depth chart form 4th string to 3rd...that right there should give you proof of Clawson's brilliance.

I did not get all tingly. I have not been this excited for Falcon Football since '06. I am completely happy to give Coach a pass on 2009 as long as the play is consistent and Falcon Football does not continually underperform in the "easy" games. If the Falcons blow insane fourth Quarter leads... :drinkers:

As far as Tennessee, there are two sides to every story and the truth lays somewhere in the middle.

As far as Tennessee, you're a retard if you think that has anything to do with how Clawson will fare as HC here.

Just wait til you see how these freshman RBs play and you'll forget about Rice being a RB.

And besides, I think he'll be a better LB anyway. I hope he just gets a chance to play.

If we have freshmen running backs better than Rice then move him to defense. If that's the case we are in great shape. I don't care if Clawson had anything to do with what Tennessee did last year ...bottom line he had a headset on the sidelines of a team that scored 7 points against Wyoming...scary. Why would anyone give Clawson a "pass" with the offense we have coming back this year? We should score 30 points a game if Flipper were coaching. Never said that Rice was Barry Sanders but he was a shot in the dark that our running game needed last year. I haven't missed a home game in over 15 years--did you guys not see him run last year?

Shot in the dark?..I think you meant to say "shot in the arm" Why should anyone take you seriously when you can't even use the correct cliche?

Then again, maybe he really did mean "shot in the dark."

At least your self-incapacitated wing didn't affect your funny.

There have been a lot of suggestions for new forums on this board covering a wide range of topics, and I think I may have an idea for one that would save all of us a lot of unnecessary reading. We could call it "Incoherent Clinging and Bitching." Father Brown and Cowboy Joe could go to town with each other in there, with Falconboy dropping in every now and then just to keep the magic fresh.
