I think the backs for the run game that have been mentioned above are truely suspect and lack the durability needed for this kind of game.
I think the D will be better, but I just dont see this offense putting up the kinds of numbers needed to win games, having the time of posession needed to rest the d and I similar results to last year, tired D in the end of the game getting trounced. ITs going to be a rough year, you, we need to be honest about that right now and not have overly high expectations for this season.
Brandon failed because he was not true the offensive plan that he and urbie created, and it bit him in the butt.
clawson deserves some time to recreate this team, in to the mac powerhouse they can be again. I fully expect a season finish lower than last year, with a big bounce in 10

Clawson's history points toward a down year, as his previous two head coaching jobs had a bad year 1 and a great year 2. Difference here is he's inheriting an already very good team that is likely more talented than the competition - didn't have that at the previous stops including Tennessee, which did not have anything resembling the talent on the offensive side of the ball as the rest of the SEC East save Kentucky and Vandy. It's possible that the first year slump with Clawson may be much less than previous stops and much less than we all fear. I'm still going with a BG win over a very good Troy team in front of a great home crowd. Word I've heard from my fiance on campus is that the new freshmen are really pumped about BG football, much more than years past.

It's not like Clawson is coming in here and trying to coach a bunch of rejects. He has a great team of players looking for new guidance, a new direction. I think we'll do well this year. Troy game: BG on top 24-17.

Well, hopefully it will be a repeat of Urban's first season!

I am not sure it will be a bumpy ride...we have a lot of Seniors who've played a lot of ball at BG. Coach Clawson saw what he had and didn't make major changes to the offensive schemes...at least on the surface. Playing to his players' strengths.

Now, I'm not saying we're gonna start 4-0 but these are all winnable games.
