I totally agree (and willing to donate some $ to back it up). We dodged a huge bullet with the proposal to update Anderson which would have been a total disaster. I dont think a new barn is going to happen but we can only hope.
Well we need to at lease put on a new arched roof with the new lighting in the old ice arena. That would really open things up and help to attract better recruits and more fans. I hope it's in the plans. Paluch's gone, now get rid of the leaky old flat roof!!

Roof, Lighting and Ice Making Equipment are HIGH on the list of repairs/renovations to be done! There are a LOT of infastructure related items that will get done early in the process.

Wouldn't it be better if we bought a new roof?

While having a new barn would be impressive, as I have said before, it simply isn't going to happen, especially not in this economy right now! Jack Vivian has looked at this issue VERY thoroughly and when he tells us it isn't going to happen, then believe me, it isn't. But, Jack has a VERY good, VERY viable plan for some impressive upgrades and renovations of the current arena. He has the trust of Dr. Cartwright and the alumni players, who will be key in making this happen; so that the program can become self-sustaining and the arena can be profitable on a continuing basis.
I dont disagree but lets wait for the marketing firms research results. No one can say with certainty what can be done without this critical feedback. Who knows, there could be a lead gift in the weeds that comes forward with a little prompting, especially since our temporary University leadership now understands that Falcons make the final decisions around here.

[A simple way to raise 1,000,000.00 would simply be if each of those members donated 100.00 in the name of Save falcon hockey
200 would be better in an attempt to match the University.]

OK. I'll start it off. I'm ready to donate $250 (plus I bought two season tickets for the first time this year). As soon as I hear about the official fundraising, my check will be in the mail.

Now I challenge the rest of you.

We will be ordering a pair of season tickets in a couple of weeks (first time ever) and can swing a $100 donation on top of that.

You should probably go ahead and cover mine too...I do NOT have the income to shell out that kind of cash...I can send a check for $5 or $10, but that's only if I don't want to pay all my bills completely this month.

My point is, it's not exactly simple for some people to shell out that kind of money. It's great that you can and I applaud those that do and I hope that some day I am in a position to do the same.
