Findlay might be fielding a pretty darn good team this year. Not only do they have Beam coming in, likely to start at QB, but they have a transfer linebacker from Ohio State that was one of the higher rated in the country coming out of high school (also California if i remember right). Probably still won't be able to overtake GVSU but they definitely have some talent this season.

beam was a guy who i thought never got a fair shake. if him and tyler came in at the same time i think beam would have beat him out. he has more all around game and a better arm than sheehan. oh well, as with glaud i wish him the best of luck. i know glaud did pretty well for deleware state last year. hopefully someone on this board can make it to a findlay game and let us know how he does.

Fair shake??? He has TWO freshmen, one true and one redshirt running ahead of hiim when he transfers. Two coaching staffs don't see something you do.
Maybe D-II is the right place for him, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that.

Stronger arm than Sheehan? Yes... Better Quarter back than Sheehan? No...He was given a fair shot everyday in practice last year, and I am guessing Clawson gave him that same chance at the start of camp. When 2 freshman move ahead of you on the depth chart, there is a reason for that. He did what was best for him and transferred.

FWIW, Findlay opened thier season with a 42-21 win over Urbana last night. Beam was the starting QB. Ran it 7 times for 10 yards, 13-18 throwing the ball, 1 Int, 2 TDs, 235 yards. Not too bad.

Great for him!!! I'm glad to see him doing well and getting his shot to start. Clearly, he's doing something different down in Findlay that he wasn't doing here.

...like playing, against a Division II defense.

I hope your not implying that good stats at Findlay would translate into the similar results at BG against Division I competition.

Not one bit...I'm simply implying that maybe he realizes this is his last shot to be a starter and he better do some things different...or maybe he's just miles ahead of any other option Findlay had at QB.

He is definitely way ahead of anything they had. They were really hurting at QB this year and it looks like they actually have some balance this year. He fits in perfectly with a D-II program, best of luck to him

GOOD! I was hoping his success (which I am happy for him) at UF will not start a QB controversy on this board. All of our scholarship athletes should be able to make a similar or greater impact at Findlay.
