good news for you....Boise does not look all that impressive right now....and Oregon looks even worse. Man the PAC 10 is bad.

You will see how bad Mizzou is going to be too when they get slaughtered by the Illini

Awesome win! The energy in the Doyt was incredible tonight. Something I haven't seen in a LONG time. I also loved seeing how the coaches were interacting with the players on the sideline. Great start to the season!

Hi guys. Troy fan here. I joined your forum just so that I could congratulate you and your team on a great game. Your guys were very prepared and well coached. If your team plays all season like they did tonight, you guys are in for a whale of a season. I'll be rooting for you for sure!

The Troy fans have all had a lot of class from what I've seen.

I thought it was great. The team really adjusted well as the game went on. I really hope this continues.

Not to be a buzz-kill, and please don't take this the wrong way, but Brandon did pull off a similar upset last year at this time which (if memory serves) resembled tonight's win.

However, I'm optimistic that this is different. There were definite signs that our defense can wrap people up, and we even saw a defensive score. Our offense appears to be trying to branch out from the spread, which will take time. Hopefully all of this pans out.

Now I have to figure out what is the best way to keep tabs on the Mizzou game.

Go Falcons!

Troy's receivers were incredible. Anything thrown in their vicinity was caught. When they went up 14-0, I thought we were toast. Needless to say, I was wrong...thank goodness. Troy, IMO, would fair very well in the MAC. They will still win their league and go to a bowl.

We got better as the game went on. At the worst, we are 2-2 going into the MAC schedule.

The best thing I saw in the game tonight was looking out on one of our first offensive plays and seeing Sheehan under center and not in the shotgun formation. That made me so friggin' happy to see!!
Great win tonight guys!!
Now it's off to Mizzou to take care of the Tigers!!

Troy has some nice players! Big, fast, strong and didn't seem rattled. The QB was getting a little antsy back there as the game went along, but the BG coaches turned the guys loose in the 2nd half! One of the guys who looked stronger and more aggressive for the good guys tonight, was Cody Basler! Good nose for the ball and he knows how to lay a hit!

I wasn't expecting this, but our team made a great halftime adjustment and dominated the 2nd half! Isn't that a great change? It is only the first game of the year, but I was pleasantly surprised by the team. I'd agree with the earlier statement that they seemed to get better as the game went along!

By the way, Phillips kicks were going right where they were supposed to, AWAY from the speedy Troy returners! As I said before, Troy has some nice players!

One question: What was up with both team walking out behind the captains for the coin toss?

Indeed. Thank you Troy fans, and your pep band definately rocked.

Go Falcons! Great start. I've got to start thinking about traveling to one of these upcoming away games.

BGSU students, great, great showing.

Next home game, we all better start heading into the stadium early because it's going to be full no doubt.

Fantastic performance tonight and another "upset" in our first FCS game of the season:
2001/2002 - Missouri
2003 - Purdue
2006 - Minny
2007 - Pitt
2008 - Troy

For whatever reason, our guys always seem to come out of the gate like world beaters. I hope the new staff has better success at keeping it up throughout the season. Can't wait to see how we do against Missouri and Marshall afte rthose teams have some time to prepare for us.

Play of the game for me was the fourth down stop at the end of the first half. I thought we were going into the half down 2 scores with the momentum on their side. Big stop and Troy really struggled in the second half thanks to our defense.

Wow - could only watch the awful b2 feed, but that was an awesome opener. All kinds of things we haven't seen from BG in a long time. Now we'll see if Clawson can succeed where his predecessor failed - consistency. I thought I was pumped this morning, now I can't wait to see what we can bring against Mizzou.
