The Ottawa Senators have announced the 21 players they are taking to Rookie Tournament with Boston, Pittsburgh, and Toronto. Svendsen and ND's Eric Condra are both on the roster.

Give Brandon 2-3 years and 15 pounds of muscle and he's going to be a regular in the NHL. One of those long-lived 3rd liners that everybody wants like Mike Johnson.

I figured he'll be in the AHL this year! If he does well at this camp, maybe Binghamton.

That's not a bad roster to be a part of. There's several first round picks on that team. Hopefully he can impress and get a look in Binghamton.

Svendsen had a goal in today's Sen's Rookies vs. Leaf's Rookies game. The goal looks like an absolute snipe on the replay. Erik Condra from ND also had a goal. I've been reading around on the message boards and a lot of people are saying that Svendsen has been playing really well in the tournament. You can see the highlights on tsn.ca/nhl . also in the highlight incase you missed it he had another backdoor opportunity that he couldnt get much of a stick on....just goes to show hes in the heat of the action.... svenny should get a good look this year in the A and possibly the nhl depending if he stays with ottawa and how there doing.

I hate to admit it, but I really didn't think he'd shine that much in the rookie camp. One guy on that message board said that he stood out as much as Karlsson and Rehner; Karlsson is a first round blue-chip prospect and Lehner was a stud in goal the entire rookie tournament. He's gotta be on cloud nine getting invited to an NHL training camp with guys like Heatley, Alfreddson and Spezza on the same ice.

With that being said he's still got a long way to go. Hopefully his play in the rookie tourney raised enough eyebrows to get him a strong look in Binghamton.
