“We are committed to hockey at BGSU,” said university president Dr. Carol Cartwright. “It is apparent that the hockey program is a treasured part of our history, and we have assured our former and current hockey players and the community that the program will continue.”

THIS is the public commitment that the alumni players have been waiting to hear from the University!

THANK YOU DR. CARTWRIGHT! You have done your homework on the history and traditions of this program. You have done right by the alumni and the community fans who hold this program so dear to their hearts!!

THANK YOU DR. JACK VIVIAN for all the hard work you have done to make sure that all the needed data and plans were put in place to insure the future of Falcon Hockey!!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

After FF text me this information I went straight to the Sebo after work and signed up for the Falcon Club. Granted, my donation may pay for some rolls of stick tape but now is the time we need to step up!

One thing I was curious about was the $2 million in scholarships. Will this go to a fund that will be used to endow the teams scholarships or is it just a one time fund raiser?

Me too. In fact, I meant to do it while I was in the Sebo Center last Friday. It's still on my list, and hockey will be designated.

Going to join the Falcon Club now as well! Considering purchasing hockey season tix and donating most of them.... We have to seriously stay on top of this and keep this momentum going!

I hated to see us all worrying when the bubble gum was hitting the fan, but it was really awesome to see the outpouring of support.

Great news! I'm beyond thrilled that the administration did their homework and saw how important the program is to the university, community and the sporting world. This will definitely release the pressure on recruiting and current talent from leaving.

I know I've mentioned it before, and sorry if I'm beating a dead horse - If you're a recent grad and want to join the Falcon Club, but don't have the $50 for a year's membership, you can join through the Burke Badenhop Challenge for $25.
