Exactly, Flipper. Couldn't have said it better myself. That's how we need to play in big games. Great job to the Falcons, I'm jazzed.

And I think we're looking like favorites for 2005, but we're going to have to win it.

No doubt, Memphis made mistakes, and no doubt, they didn't have Williams as a force for the game.

But the D made some plays--and seemed to improve after the half, not get worse. And the O came for the whole game. There was that third down play in the third where things were looking a little shaky. Omar converted, and we rolled from then on (much like the Marshall game).

Our seniors deserve this, and I'm glad they were able to win with a win on their record. They have really helped turn our program around. I wish Cole could have scored, but he's a team guy, and the win is going to have to be good enough.

Its a snowy night here in BG, but I have a warm heart right now.

who's your mvp?

Omar may put up great numbers, but I'm really not sold on him as a great player yet. I thought he threw a lot of poor balls and seemed rattled by the blitz. The pick was horrible and could have been costly at that point in the game. Luckily, the D stepped up and Memphis (say it for me Bob Davie) "self destructed".

I'd have given the player of the game to PJ Pope. I thought he ran really well and seemed to take Memphis' heart with his last td. Anyone agree with me?

It even seemed like we made adjustments. And the intensity was there. That D-line seemed to be everywhere and the LB's played well. I hope the extra practice time helps the defense and this gives recruiting a surprise boost.

I thnk NIU loses too many starters, UT takes a hit on the OL and WR and their top RB won't be the same. I'd say you're right.

that was great! Omar did struggle for a series or two but the D stepped up and they did it, and i love the int. at the end by Keon, what a last play as a falcon.

Yeah, he made a mistake here and there. He adjusted and bounced back, too. He's already the best player in our conference as a sophomore, and he'll get better. We're fortunate to have him...very fortunate. I swear he went six weeks this season without throwing a bad ball.

And he throws four interceptions in a season (and given the number of times we pass) and the fourth one makes you a doubter?

This program is ready to finally win a MAC Championship and get back on top where we belong. Let's get it done next year!

Defenses are going to try different things, what matters is how Omar adjusts and continues to play. You're basing his performance on two possessions which he came back from.

It's really odd to see the word horrible used after this game.

BG was leading when Williams went down. You can only self distruct when you have the lead and then go on to lose by shooting yourself in the foot.

One could make an argument that the pick was as much a fault of the playcalling as it was Omar. I really get sick of having Omar roll to his left and try to throw a ball while rolling that direction. Yes, Omar is good, and has a strong enough arm to make that throw for the most part. I still think its a poor idea to design plays (we ran A LOT of them last night) that make your QB do the most difficult thing a QB can do (throw across his body while rolling against his arm). We have been blessed with Omar & J5 in recent years, but my god if you ask even an average QB to make that throw it could get ugly.

Pope played one heckuva game last night. Every time our offense would stall I was screaming for us to run more. Then we did & we'd get kick started again. PJ is a good one. We're quite lucky to have Sharon/Sanders/Pope/Jacobs returning next year :)!

Congrats, Falcons! I enjoyed watching a well played, clean game from both teams who had obvious respect for each other out there! Good luck next year!

Nah, that would be choking. They came out with potential to win the game, especially given our reputation for 2nd half play, and they completely {altogether now} self-destructed. First the two ineligible player calls back-to-back, and it was downhill from there. Great game though. A few mistakes, but it didn't rattle us in the long run.
