Marshall Tailgate

Post by Izzfanatic »

Sorry if I missed this discussion, but does anyone have info on tailgating at Marshall. My fiance and I decided to make the trek down to Huntington. I would love some advice on where to stay, park, tailgate, eating establishments or bars that shouldn't be missed, etc?

Multiple Hotels have been built since your last visit.

Bars and CLubs everywhere downtown.

I would recommend trying to stay at either Pullman Plaza or Holiday Inn Downtown, better call fast though. They are both right around a lot of cool stuff at Pullman Plaza.

Glad you are coming down, how many more people will be here to witness you guys getting drubbed.

Sorry, I can be nice, but not entirely nice.

Thanks for the info. I got a reservation at the Pullman Plaza. Holiday Inn was booked. Any tips on a bar to watch college football during the day on Sat? Nightlife you would suggest to hit after we win?

The Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe is a block down third avenue from the Pullman Plaza. Ask to be seated in the bar area, there are 4 or 5 flat screens above the bar and then each booth has it's own tv. Coach Bobby Pruett's Steakhouse is located inside Pullman Plaza as well but the bar area is a lot smaller than the Hall of Fame's. Fourth avenue is where most of the nightlife is. From basically 14th street to 8th street, from night clubs to pubs and a jazz bar.

Starting at 11am on saturday third avenue will be closed down from 10th street to 8th street in front of Pullman Square for the annual WV chilifest. Pauly Shore is at the Funnybone on friday and saturday night. There is a benefit concert friday night on the West Lot of Joan C Edwards Stadium to endow a scholarship in one of our past basketball coach's name. His son Rick Huckaby(country artist, I think) will be the headliner.

Nightlife in Huntington, WV. That is a good example of an oxymoron. :P

It took 13 minutes to get a response. That is a lot longer than I thought. Anyway, if you look at the emoticon, it is razz, meaning a joke. Don't get too defensive. Huntington is actually a nice city, I used do some internal audit work for a bank located in Huntington.
