Re: Boise tickets
I just ordered tickets about 15-20 minutes ago, got 4 seats in Section 11, Row 46...kinda high but I like being up there for a football game.

Re: Boise tickets
That is true as much as it sucks since it'll take seats away from those that actually want to be there to watch the game...not saying high school bands kids don't want to be there to watch the game though...Falcon137 wrote:I really hope that's not true.BGFan wrote:It's also high school band day. From what I understand there are more than 1000 HS band members coming so that automatically took up a chunk of the seating.

Agreed. Why would they pick the biggest home game (attendance wise) to bring a bunch of high school bands in?Strouse wrote:That is true as much as it sucks since it'll take seats away from those that actually want to be there to watch the game...not saying high school bands kids don't want to be there to watch the game though...Falcon137 wrote:I really hope that's not true.BGFan wrote:It's also high school band day. Re: Boise tickets
Just a guess, but perhaps to recruit? How many football players do they bring in to watch the games? Well, if you bring in HS band students, they can see the band's halftime show. Smart idea to bring them in, considering a much smaller percentage of band students are on full ride scholarships than football players (although I'm just speculating).Falcon137 wrote:Agreed. As for why they chose this game, perhaps the huge crowd will impact these potential falcons as well.

Re: Boise tickets
Maybe. Hopefully they give them orange t-shirts or something. I know the game has been designated an "Orange Out." Hopefully we don't have to see 1,000 kids wearing purple, green, or even blue uniforms taking up an entire section.footballguy51 wrote:Just a guess, but perhaps to recruit? I totally agree on that, how bad would it be to see 4 or 5 sections in different colors while everyone else is wearing orange. I really hope these kids all get orange shirts.

This band thing can't be true. I choose not to believe that we are giving 1,000 tickets to band kids during the biggest home game since Gameday. Are we on punked??

Re: Boise tickets
Got my tickets, Section 11, Row 46, I hope these aren't obstructed at all by the press box?
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

Look at the bright side...if it's raining that day or the tOSU game goes a little long, at least the bands will be there in the seats cheering for the Falcons. Besides, when was the last time our stadium was completely filled with BG fans?

Re: Boise tickets
I'd venture a guess that the ESPN Gameday was the last time the Doyt sold out.

I think I may have to order tix online, but the $5.00 processing charge sucks butt. I'm guessing the only way to avoid this is to get the tickets in person at the ticket office.

Re: Boise tickets
Totally. Because raising the price of a ticket to see BG with a pretty good shot (IMHO) of beating a Top Ten team at The Doyt to an astronomical $19 is ridiculous.Falconboy wrote:I think I may have to order tix online, but the $5.00 processing charge sucks butt. When was the last time any stadium was filled completely with home team fans? Last time I checked there was blue in the stands at the Ohio State Michigan game.bg8492 wrote:BGfootballfan wrote:This band thing can't be true. The majority of the band kids there wont be cheering for BG anyway, after they do w/e it is high school bands do they will just screw around with their friends and annoy the paid tickets around them.
I don't care how it's spun this was a dumb idea, band day should be when we play Ohio at home.
BG is promoting this game unlike any other since I have been here, the highest ranked team EVER to come here, the athletic department telling people to arrive early and plan extra time because of the large crowd expected, students forced to get actual tickets, and yet we are giving a bunch of high school kids who would rather be at a party in Perrysburg on Saturday night tickets. Brilliant.

When would be a better game?? Looking at the schedule this is the best date.footballguy51 wrote:Just a guess, but perhaps to recruit? How many football players do they bring in to watch the games? 9/3 Troy This was a Thursday night game and there is no way the turnout would have been good. This game also seemed to be billed as a "reintroduction" of the team to the student body.
9/26 Boise State There is no "major" promotion going on. And with 1000 or so high school students may come another 1000 or so parents that will buy tickets and spend money at the concession stands.
10/3 Ohio This is Homecoming AND the recognition of the 1959 National Championship team. That's enough right there.
10/24 Central Michigan I believe this is Family Weekend. Hopefully that alone will fill the stands. But even if it doesn't I still would not like to see another promotion on the same day.
11/20 Akron Not only is this a Friday night game, but there will be some schools in playoffs. It's also getting close to Thanksgiving.
11/27 Toledo The day after Thanksgiving, really, there wouldn't be a snowballs chance in hell of getting any bands for that game.
So, really the Boise game is the only viable option for band day. I don't see what the big deal is. We need as big of a crowd as possible for this game. This helps assure we get there. The focus should be on getting these kids in and enjoying the game cheering for the Falcons.
