What Must He Do?

Post by BGFalconfromCincy »

Ever since Paluch resigned and Coach Williams was named interim head coach I have wanted to pose this question to the board, but I wanted to wait until we knew that the program would continue past this season. Since that has now happened I will ask the question.

What do you think Coach Williams and the team must do this season for Williams to have the interim removed from his title and be the head coach for years to come?

Cut down on the off-the-ice issues, make sure his guys compete hard every night, and connect with the alumni and community members. Thus far, he's got 2/3.

If you are including transfers/early departures with off-ice issues I would say you've nailed it
Drew.

(Not counting Sexton there since an NHL signing bonus would turn most anyone's head.)
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

Make hockey fun for the players again. They have to want to come to the rink day in and day out, as well as want to play for a coach that they respect. From what I understand, this is already happening.

Success on the ice will also play a very big factor. This is his first D1 head coaching job. A successful first half of the season will make it difficult for the adimnistartion to justify spending more money on a search for a replacement.

He needs to not worry about tomorrow, and follow the plan he feels right. No one is expecting this team to come out and win the CCHA, or make it to the Joe even.
I want to see him develop a plan that utilizies these players to thier max, keeps them fresh and driven, I am not going to hang a 8th place finish on his wall or your out.
the reality is that the likely truth is that it is his job, and he has it for keeps.
Lets Improve, lets get the rink updated, and athletes funded, lets support this coach 100% this season, no matter what, he has a good staff, we have good players that are up for the challanges that this season holds. The better our support, the better our understanding of this development process, the better it will be. LEts fill the rink so prospects go s**t I want to play here. There is no other venue like ours when the house rocks. Its true.

I think Razor just needs to be Razor. Coach the way he played. Have fun. The team needs to improve as the season goes on. Be competitive, at least that's all I ask. We're rebuilding from a situation that was almost a death sentence to the program, so it will take awhile...I'm willing to wait and I hope ALL other Falcon Fans are too!

GO FALCONS!

I don't think the interim tag will stay on him long once the boosters get going.
