I do not expect BG to win this game. I really don't even expect it to be close. Boise is a DAMN good team. Quite probably the best team that has ever played in Doyt Perry Stadium.

However, this is college football and anything can (and DOES) happen. Especially in a hostile environment, and I fully expect a sellout and VERY rowdy crowd for this one.

Going in I thought 0-4 OOC was a distinct possibility, and 2-2 would have had me thrilled. I'm a little bummed that we lost against the worst team of the OOC schedule, but Marshall is never an easy place to play. 2-2 with a win over Boise would have me thrilled.

I expect the team to come out fired up, and I expect a boisterous crowd. Put those two things together and you just never know!

Fortunately football games are played and decided on the field. I am convinced that BGSU has a good chance of upsetting Boise. As I tell my own football team...when the game is over...it's time to learn from that one and move on to the next one. (In case you are wondering, we have lost only one game this season and by one point). I have the up most respect for BGSU's coaching staff and their ability to get the team ready. We can all point fingers of blame why we lost the last couple of games, but I can tell you no one is more upset with the loses then the BGSU players. Also is Boise beatable...ABSOLUTELY!!!!

That's why I love college football so much. You just never know. Anything can happen and emotion can play a huge role.

Don't expect the crowd to be a huge factor, however. Oregon Autzen Stadium is raked one of the toughest places in the country to play. The Broncos went in there last year--mostly freshmen and sophomores and took it to the Ducks.

I'm one who believes this could be a tougher game than some people think. I think this will be the farthest East the Broncos have ever played--at least since becoming a D1 program in 1996.

Appalachian State was never going to go into The Big House and beat Mighty Meeshagan. They were just going to go to Ann Arbor, get paid a lot of money to lose by 60 points and then go home.

BG on the other hand is a I-A team, at home, with rabid fans, playing on national TV. Stranger things have happened.

Boise State has some areas in which we could be successful if we exploit those weaknesses. In watching the game vs. Fresno I was thinking our new style of offense could move the ball and put up some points, but then I watched the BG-Marshall game the next day. . .

If we balance and attack like we did vs. Troy and Mizzou we might be able to hang and perhaps do something special. Fresno was mixing up good runs with deep throws and it was a fun game to watch.

Now, that said they have very good strengths as well. Their D line could cause us some problems and their poised QB could pick us apart if we don't get pressure on him.

No doubt it will be a fun game and worth the 12 hour (each way) drive back to BG for a full weekend of fun!

I have to agree with Dayon as well. If we see the offense and defense of the Troy and Mizzou games but improved we might be able to hang. But if we see anything resembling that horrid GB offense vs Marshall , we're gonna be in the crapper extremely quick. I'm not sure what areas are Boise's strengths at this time , whether it's running or passing but Boise appears to have capability to put up 50+ on us if our defense gets tired.

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere. A large part of lot 20 (overflow) is not available due to construction. Just a heads up.

I have watched a couple of Boise's games this year, and what stood out to me the most about them is how impeccable their special teams can be. They have given up the occasional big return, but for the most part their ST players are flying around, staying in their lanes, and eliminating big momentum changes. Conversely, I think this has been one of BG's weak points thus far in the season. We're not horrible, but I haven't seen us produce any major field position changes on kickoffs or punt returns. A lot of what happens on Saturday is going to depend on how we deal with this facet of the game, in my opinion.

Anything is possible, as others have said, and this game is going to serve as a great measuring stick for the current state of the program. If we can win this game or even just make us competitive, we are going to have a VERY fun MAC season to look forward to. If the assumption of everyone in the national media comes to fruition - that we are just a minor blip on BSU's radar - then there is a chance that the MAC portion of the schedule could be as much of a crap shoot as it has been for the past couple of years. My point isn't to insinuate that this game is a make-or-break point in the season, but that we have a lot to look forward to the rest of the way no matter what the outcome might be. No one should disrespect what Boise has been able to do as a program over the past few years.

The farthest East Boise has played was Georgia in 05. Also So Carolina and Arkansas. All losses.
