Yup - and this isn't even including the fact that the strand connecting our loss to Ohio with the 4 preceding games is pretty friggin' thin.1987alum wrote:We played three non-BCS schools and had a BCS-school payday. In general, that's a pretty good schedule for us.
My ideal schedule:
H: vs. 1-AA ... a tuneup game
H: vs. non-BCS school
A: vs. non-BCS school
A: vs. BCS school ... payday
Now, if you drop Troy and substitute, say, SE Mizzou or someone like that, for this year, what's the difference? Coming out of OOC at 2-2 is nothing shameful here. I mean, lose to Mizzou and to Boise, beat Marshall and Troy. A good BG team should be able to do that.

Right. I mean, if we played Ohio State and Boise and Mizzou ... yeah, I could see that we have bitten off too much and that it could have a negative impact as we head into MAC play. But that didn't happen. We won a game we should have won. Almost won a game against a top 25 team, lost a game we should have expected to lose and lost a game we should have won by multiple scores.
I dunno. A lot of things may have kneecapped our season, but I don't think our schedule was one of them.
