Checking in after Mobile!

Post by Bleeding Orange »

Well, between snow and Christmas, this is the first chance I have gotten to check in here (Merry Christmas all!). WHAT A GAME!!!!

The whole experience in Mobile (other than going and coming) was awesome. Wintzel's has awesome food. The parade was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. The pep rallies right on Mobile Bay were awesome, too. I must say that I had a great time with all of the Memphis fans, too. They were, in fact, nicer and more fun than Oklahoma fans (sorry Sooners), and it was a pleasure to face such classy people in a bowl game. I'm almost sorry one of our teams had to lose, but with all due respect, I'm [oops] GLAD [oops] it was their team!

Despite the rain, the game was awesome! Omar and P.J. were simply amazing. I was especially proud that P.J. got the better of Williams who was third in the country in rushing (but I feel horrible that D'Angelo got hurt, that was very sad). The way our defense played in the second half, I almost forgot about Turdledo (almost...).

Omar is going to win the Heisman next year. If anyone around here thinks differently I will fight you anyplace, anytime. Bring it on.

Other than the win, one of the highlights of the trip was getting to meet 87 and the reason we won the game -- Noah! :D It was hard to miss Noah's little #5 jersey after the game, and I was glad to hear him boast about his record. 87, we are going to have to take up a collection to get you and Noah to Boise and Madison next year, as well as to all of our conference road games. Seriously.

Go Falcons, and best of luck to all of our seniors in the NFL combines!

1) You wanted Memphis to win?
2) No way Omar wins the Heisman next year. It would be a miracle for a mid-major SENIOR to win it, let alone a JUNIOR. I DO, however, think he'll have a great season and it will build it up for when he pulls of the miracle and wins it his senior year.

Roethlisberger was invited to New York as a junior. Think about if he hadn't laid an egg at Iowa? Miami would have been in the BCS and he would have won the Heisman. With our schedule next year, the same thing could happen to us if we run the table. That is a lot of ifs, but it could happen!
