We could have used.....Chris Bullock---was this the poor run blocking linemen that Brandon recruited that was blocking for Bullock in 2006? Give him the ball 10-12 times per game for &^%$ sake!

By the way----people forget that we led the MAC in rushing in 2006 when we didn't have the QB play to throw it 40 times a game and averaged 193.2 yards per game.

Bowling Green State University running back Chris Bullock was named third-team Freshman All-American by The Sporting News. He set a new BGSU freshman record by rushing for 769 yards this season.

The Destrehan, Louisiana native began the season as a backup, but took over the primary ball carrier's role in the second half of the fourth game of the season. He responded the following week with 114 yards in the Falcons 21-9 win at Ohio and had a career-high 182 yards at Temple.

He averaged 109.5 yards per game over a six game span after taking over the starter's role and was the fifth leading freshman rusher in the country.

And how many fumbles did he have?

Also, isn't it easy to get 100 yards rushing if all you do is run the ball?

There were 13 fumbles that season. I don't know who fumbled them, but I'm sure I can look that up, too.

I suppose Barnes should still play QB?

You keep looking at those stat sheets from 3 years ago and spouting how we need to give Bullock more carries.

I'll watch the games and it is painfully obvious why we don't give Bullock more carries. He's just not explosive. Especially because our OL doesn't open many holes in the running game, so pounding a bigger back into the middle is NOT going to be effective. The success we have had rushing seems to be on cutbacks and outside runs, these are NOT Bullock's strong suits.

Agreed, Bullock has all the talent in the world but he has no explosion anymore. And without that, his fumbles are just too costly to have him in there that much.

I use those stats from 3 years ago because he was the fifth leading freshman rusher in the country as a freshman at 109 yards per game and named Sporting News Freshman All-American and now he can't seem to see the field. We keep running Geter into the line inside the 20 and its driving everyone crazy. I would love to see Sheehan run up the middle like last year with the empty set. It got us a ton of yards. He ran for 237 yards and a team-high seven touchdowns last year---there are some returning TDs from last year that we have not tapped into yet. I am not saying Bullock should be the everydown back--but he should be getting some carries. That's all there is to it.

That's so ridiculous I can't even comment. I figured I would at least spell ridiculous correctly.

Here in lies the problem CJ, he IS getting carries but is only averaging 2.4 yards and he lost a HUGE fumble versus OU that led directly to a score.

My continued return to this thread gives me a strong indication that I - on some latent level - desire mental pain and anguish.

I may as well jump into full fledged masochism and log onto democraticunderground.com.

Take care, everyone.

Step away from the computer and drink a gallon of Everclear. You'll kill fewer brain cells doing that than you would trying to untangle the thought processes behind the average DU post...

Good point. Oddly enough, I have some everclear in the basement. This may act as a double benefit since the outlaws are in town.

Wouldn't drinking that stuff you consume before a colonoscopy be more in line in untangling that thought process?
