Re: Kent State Game thread
My guess is because we can prevent them from winning it with a field goal.

HELL YEAH! Nice win Falcons. Don't ever effin' do that again!hammb wrote:FUCKIN AY!
Seriously, though, for all their faults, this team hasn't quit against steep odds the last two times out. Now if the offense can start converting when they should and the defense can, well, show up....

Huge win! Amazing. Except I couldn't watch the end because they couldn't find FSN Ohio at El Zarape. Boo to that.

After some confusion they did the right thing at the end of the game. They took a knee rather than risk a fumble or interception while going for two point converesion where Kent could run it back for two points and the lead. Same reason they don't kick the extra point...no chance for a block and a run back.
Clawson made the right call.
Noticed our kickers was replaced on field goals and extra points in the second half. Who's the new guy?

Matt Norsic took over the FG and XP kicking duties today. Phillips still did the kick-offs though. Clawson just said that Phillips was injured this week.Rollo83 wrote:After some confusion they did the right thing at the end of the game. Very smart. I like that a lot. 505 yards for Sheehan!

Absolutely huge win today. Very nice to see the red zone struggles subside. We need to find a way to duplicate today's red zone success, because we're above average between the 20s.

Man, you just had to be there to believe it!!
just got back home in time to see Freddie get some publicity on ESPN halftime show! I'm not sure what was the best part of his game...all the catches, the run after catch for the 4Q TD, or the Punt Return fumble recovery that allowed the final drive to be.

There is no other way to finish a season other than yelling at the top of your lungs among BG's players holding the Peace Pipe aloft!

Wow! Freddie was amazing.... What an individual effort. What I fail to understand is why this coach continues to think we can run the ball. I understand that he wants balance but in order to get that balance we need to recruit different players who arent currently with us. Our offensive line clearly pass blocks better then they run block and when we spread out teams we move the ball much more effectively. I am not saying that we should just stop running completely, I just think we need to Pass to setup the Run. Screens and draws are our ticket to success with this group... we will never be able to run between the tackles in a convential manner with out current players. Just my two cents.... I am sure there with be alot of disagreement..... By the way Justus looked really good today maybe some of these injuries might be blessing in disguise.

Couldn't agree more on that. That was an absolutely terrible call.Flipper wrote:We just got hosed on that late hit call on the sidelines
But, BG came out on top and Freddie and Tyler were hands-down phenomenal in that game. I just got done watching the replay and it really was a great game. We had some really rough spots, but some really incredible spots as well. Now let's take it to Ball State next week!

We threw the ball a school record 63 times and you think we ran too much...that has got to be about the silliest thing I've rever read...60yearsofsicsic wrote:Wow! Freddie was amazing.... And I mean absolutely no offense by that...seriously...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
