Their crummy offense wasn't bailed out by their defense today. Pryor is garbage. All that talent and he doesn't know what to do with it.

Most players who are 18 or 19 have no idea what to do with their talent. That's why you have coaches who can mold those players.

tOSU doesn't have a single offense-minded coach making any decisions. Tressel's contract isn't up until 2013 and he's making $3.5 mill per year so I wouldn't see him getting the Zook treatment anytime soon but he might start losing some recruits if he doesn't hand the playcalling duties over to someone offensively competent tOSU may become the new Notre Dame.

My heart is broken today.

And OSU still has to play Penn State, Iowa and Michigan. Wouldn't it be a shame to see them lose 5 games this year?

Where is tikibininininin today? :-D

I don't think OSU gets beat 3 times this year, Penn St and Michigan are vastly overrated. The Big10 is awful this year, after watching S. Carolina and Alabama last night I am convinced S. Carolina could win the Big10 and they are probably the 4th or 5th best team in the SEC.

Yep. And it doesn't get much better than Purdue.

I should have said 3 times in the Big10 this year. You know a league is bad when the best team in it beat N. Iowa and Arkansas State by a combined 4 points.

And yet Ohio State isn't vastly overrated? Their offense is nowhere right now. Penn State and Michigan get the Buck$ at home...that makes a pretty BiG difference.

I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I've actually found a situation where I will want OSU to win. If OSU beats Iowa, the big10 will be completely irrelevant this year. Having said that, they can lose every other game for all I care.

The big 10 is irrelevant anyway, because even if Iowa wins, they'll probably drop another game before the end because they simply aren't that good. They were lucky to get all those close wins, especially Northern Iowa with the blocked field goals. They made OSU's 2002 NC team look like worldbeaters with their win margins.

Really, OSU's going to win the conference again mostly by default. There's nobody else out there that's worth a darn. I had hopes for Penn State, but that weak OOC schedule didn't do them any favors, and Darryl Clark has regressed horribly. Iowa's a fluke, and there's nobody else outstanding. Mich stinks, Michigan State is mediocre, Minnesota is lame, Purdue is Purdon't, Indiana is unlucky, Illinois is turrible, and Northwestern, though they've actually overperformed their normal record, certainly isn't outstanding.

Of course, the MAC has 1 win against the Big Ten this season. What does THAT say? :x

Make that 2 wins - CMU over MSU and NIU over Purdue. But yes ... that's it, sadly. Last year, the MAC beat combined Pitt, Syracuse, Indiana (twice), Illinois, and Michigan. This year, wins over those Big 10 teams and Toledo beating an awful Colorado team, and that's it. Definitely a step back. Maybe the conference will win a bowl game this year ... it's been a few years since that's happened.

NIU beat Purdue? I was not aware of that. Well, make it two, though looking at where NIU is and where Purdue is in their respective conferences, that's not really what I'd call a "quality win". But it's a win.

We'll see if OSU beats Iowa. I have a feeling the game won't even be close, the Hawkeyes will probably turn it over 4 or 5 times and not crack double digit points without Stanzi.

You feel bad for Ohio State winning the Big Ten and going to the Rose Bowl?

I knew you were an OSU fan! You feel bad because they are not going to the national championship. Me too!

But Rose Bowl is not a bad 2nd prize.
