While not a huge fan of CFN, they currently have him #5 on the list of Heisman candidates as they see it.

5. WR Freddie Barnes, Sr. Bowling Green
And you thought Michael Crabtree left college football early. Barnes has made 85 catches over the first seven games of the year; that’s 31 more than the No. 2 man on the list, KU’s Kerry Meier. He is fourth in the nation in receiving yards per game, and leads the country in total receiving yards (his 882 is 91 more than the No. 2 man, Hawaii’s Greg Salas), and he leads the nation with eight touchdown catches. Devastating with the ball in his hands, he also has a rushing score and has been a strong punt returner. But the receptions that has him on this list making 22 for 278 yards and three scores against Kent State, 17 against Marshall, ten against Missouri, and 15 against Troy. How important is he? Bowling Green is last in the nation in rushing. It’s Tyler Sheehan-to-Barnes, or else.
