Why is 6 afraid of 7?

Post by bgsufalcon24 »

Because there hasn't been a post on the hockey forum in 3 days!

Cmon really, we've got our first official series at home this weekend against Providence, we've got to be up and ready for this following our beatdown at the hands of the U-18 national team. It may not be a CCHA series, but we can't afford to get beat around at home again. It's time that the team steps up and gets a couple of W's.

Go BG!!

I liked the responses from Coach in this weeks presser. I like how he spelled it out for them and is making them "reearn" their spots...who hungry and wants it will get the spot. I like how he is approaching this and I like how he is not singling out any one player for mistakes.
We will lnot be able to attend this weekends games, or maybe just ble to make Fridaynights, I am bumbed because I think Mason is here this weekend to right?
I also want to see how the team plays, after this week, I believe it will tell alot, and as nice as the raido game call is (excepet they do not give out the score often enough) you can only really tell how the team is doing if you see them with your own eye, are they playing with stone hands? Are they back checking? who is pulling up and not givng it 100%, who is playing with all heart...you just dont get that on the radio.

I think it's good that he's not singling players out as well. He's a new coach with a team that could struggle a lot this year and he doesn't need to lose the locker room or individual players this early on. To me, he really seems like a coach that players want to play for. He seems to hold everyone accountable for the way that they play and practice but doesn't hang them out to dry when they make mistakes. I really like the fact that we can get to know him and what he's thinking through the pressers on the site.

The whole "tryouts" thing that they're apparently having this week in practice in order to earn playing time this weekend should hopefully motivate the team. We're not going to be a team that gets by on talent, we're going to have to outwork whoever we're playing to win games against almost any team we play.

I've liked almost everything that Williams has said and done so far this year. Whether or not that translates to success on the ice or not is a completely different story.
