Great blog about Paluch. That pretty much sums up my feelings on him as well.

As for this weekend, hopefully we can at least put up a better showing than we did last Friday. The team has apparently been working really hard in practice this week so hopefully it shows this weekend. I don't think we'll take either game, but who knows, anything can happen.

As the eternal optimist I feel we can play to at least a split. I see us fighting for every thing we get, and it not being easy, but they can do it. It would be the kind of win we need to have to get things started.

To be successful we're going to have to get through their trap and work pucks down low. We can't turn the puck over on the blue line like we did last week.

I was out of town for the game last week (and it sounded like I didn't miss much).

I am hoping as well to see a strong showing and improvement this weekend. I am excited to go to the games!

I haven't had a chance to visit the board in awhile. Has there been any news on Solway?

I know that Williams said in the last presser that Solway has been skating. I don't know if anybody knows anything beyond that. Hopefully he's ready for the weekend but I'd rather see them sit him out if he's not completely ready than rush him back too early.

ND shut out BU 3-0. ND will surely climb in the polls now. The USCHO site all says that that ended BU's streak of 99 games with out being shut out, and that the last team Denver to start a season 0-2 never made it back to the ncaa's .
which means that once again CCHA teams are poised to have about 5 teams in the top 10. Good fro the league.

Well Im excited as it looks like I should be able to make tonights game!

Game 1 Live Update:
- Solway is back in the line-up and will center the top line with Pageau (L) and Kantola (R)
- Eno will start in net.
- I got kicked out of the big boys club and got relegated to the "scout's table." Probably won't be much better come tomorrow when BCSN is here. Providence brought a small army of game staff.

Embarrassing. Completely embarassing. Someone care to remind these guys that there are 60 minutes in a game. And of the THOUSANDS of emails that president Cartwright and the AD received in support of keeping hockey. They seem to have forgot.

Just a couple notes while I wait for the video to pull:
- Solway was explosive early then the rust set in. Still was a spark at times for the team.
- Ruel needs to work on the mental part of the game. Made way too many mistakes including 2 goals that were directly caused by his mistakes.
- I'm paraphrasing here, but the Providence coach said that of every team they've faced this year (Holy Cross, Notre Dame) we were the most physical and active in the 1st.
- We were hoping to interview Dee and Solway after the game but the players called a players only meeting.

I thought we came out strong in the first period. I was really excited that this would be the team I had hoped to see. Then the second period started...

We looked listless and tired at the drop of the puck in the second period. Providence came out strong and played really aggressive. They are far better skaters than we are. Fast and good command of the puck. We couldn't get out of our own way!

I don't see any real chemistry with our line combinations right now. I know the players are young and learning to play together but I don't see anything gelling right now. Hopefully with time this will improve.

I am glad the players had a players only meeting. Hopefully something great can come from it.

I love Falcon hockey. I still believe in the program, team, and in Coach Williams. This can turn around. It will just take some time.

Best news following a game like that.

Few thoughts:
I'm still kinda disappointed that the 4th line of Rodriguez, Freismuth, and Finnegan didn't see more ice time. Maybe there was an underlying cause there, but they showed far more energy than most of the other lines.

Kind of ironic that there was an article in the Sentinel on Thursday about Dee not being a goal scorer for this team. He came very close to having a hat trick tonight.

Just read that it's Parents Weekend. Wow. That's all I can say there....
