I was reading Rick Reilly's column on ESPN and he mentioned tailgating as being outlawed at several pro football stadiums and at several colleges in Michigan, and then goes on to mention CMU and WMU's policy. Interesting read.

CMU was addressing admin concerns over a female student found on the ground due to alcohol overdose during last years season. The sound systems made it difficult for EMT's to get assistance.
After one week, the admin reversed it's decision on sound systems AND let it be known that they would not be checking entering vehicles for amounts of alcohol. So, basically, the Administration took a public stance to cover their .... As long as students and others are not suffering from alcohol od, they will be permitted to carry on.
