Tickets for "home" game V. Michigan

Post by dforde »

I got my tickets for the game in Toledo against UM. Does anyone know how they decided where in the Lucas County Arena the BGSU season ticket holders would be sitting? My season tickets at the Ice Arena are right in Section C, Row 10 right behind the visiting team penalty box close to center ice. The two tickets I received for the Nov. 21 game against UM in Toledo are in Section 104 which is in one corner. The seats don't seem comparable. I won't be too pleased if the UM fans are sitting at center ice for a BGSU home game.

I wasn't impressed with our seats, either. We're in CC at the Ice Arena, 104 Row N at Toledo.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure those who have season tickets at the LC arena were given first dibs on these tickets. The more I hear about this game I think that the Walleye organization wanted us to play there more than we wanted to play there.

Probably true about LC season ticket holders, but I just checked Ticetmaster, and the "best available" pair of tix right now is center ice (118), Row A.

ours are in 104 row N as well and we bought 10 tickets. I will be NONE too pleased if as a 30+ year season ticket holder we get shafted for random people or UM fans.

Were the BG season ticket holder seats paid for as part of the whole package? Or were they added in as a bonus for those that bought season tickets?

If it's the latter, I could see the Lucas County folks trying to keep the "high priced" seats open for sale and put those getting "free/bonus" tickets in the cheap seats. Still kinda BS, but I'd understand.

Being in section 104, BGSU will shoot towards the goal at the other end of the ice for 2 of the three periods. I sat in section 104 for a Walleye game opening weekend and Toledo was on offense towards the other end for 2 of three periods.

I just talked to the BG ticket office and he said the only tickets we have available to the public are in section 119. Maybe GC and company have taken the rest of the good seats to hand out! That section is near mid ice and he said the rest of the tickets are being sold through Ticketmaster. Sounds to me like the people that bought early got SCREWED, which I am finding is about par for the course. Screw over the people that are the most loyal to a program. Other example.......the new parking policy.

I just got off the phone with the Athletic Ticket office and was told the same thing.....the best seats were held for sale to the general public. My six season tickets are in the corner top row of the first tier. I told them this was not acceptable! Apparently BGSU was alloted tickets by the Lucas County Arena and can only deal with what they are given. My understanding is that the Michigan contingent sections are better then what we got. I was also told that this was because the general public and the Michigan fans would be more likely to purchase tickets if the seats were desirable. You would think that when the deal was made with the Athletic Dept and Lucas Co Arena, BGSU would have looked out for their supporters. In case you can't tell, I'm totally irate about this whole situation! We as fans need to support the hockey program but it seems like BGSU is making it more and more difficult!!

Does anyone know how those tickets are working out for students?

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Haven't heard for sure, but I think students will have to buy regular tickets.

This is true, Nick wants to get as many people as possible exposed to the arena, early, so they want to go there.
There is active work being done right now, to make the move for the UT club team (horrible as they are) to a D3 program, which play out of and practive at the LC Arena.
In addition there will be numerous HS games played at the arena this year, and moves are being made to host district semi finals and the finals. IT will be interesting to watch how it all pans out over the next year.
