Uh oh... apparently there's question if JST was eligible to shoot in the shootout after he was penalized for roughing to end the OT.

EDIT: Reading the sidebar here, I don't think we're getting a win out of this, unless JST wasn't really penalized.

I dont know for sure whats going on but after reading the CCHA website it is unsure if JST was eligible for the shootout due to a roughing penalty taken at the end of OT

heres the article just posted on bgsufalcons.com

Either way.... we still didn't get our first "official" win... but its still a HUGE step and improvement for our team. In all honesty, if we get the tie and no extra point for the SO win.... it might be better, as we may be more fired up tomorrow.

Either way... good things for the team lie ahead.

The CCHA box score doesn't show a penalty on JST at the end of OT. Dee and two Mavs, but not JST.

And apparently, UNO's last shootout attempt stopped on the goal line. Close, but no ceeeegar!!!

The official story on the BGSU site pretty much nails it. What will be interesting is:
1) If JST is indeed ruled inelgible for the shootout, what's the result of the game? Will there be a make-up shootout tomorrow? Will BG be forced to take a L?
2) Was the official stat sheet signed? Everything I've ever read is that once the stat sheet is signed by the officials the game is then considered official and nothing can be changed.

Again, the last I heard was that the BGSU SID and coaches are waiting outside the officials locker room. The players are at the arena too.

Agreed... saw the box score...no JST penalty at the end of OT even if he got one with no time it should be posted as an official penatly. he would still get 2 mins to his pim total. If BG doesnt get credit. I agree it should light a fire for tomorrow night.. Hopefully senses prevail and a W goes in the column for sure. I couldnt see us takng a loss however, if anything it would end in a tie im guessing.

I really don't recall hearing a penalty on JST at the end of overtime. I remember Dee getting called, but not JST.

I had really wanted to go to bed early tonight, but now I just REALLY want to know if we got the W tonight! :?

Worst case scenario is we'd get a tie... 1 point a piece.

Best case scenario is we'd get an extra point in the SW column.

We will NOT get a mark in the W column... to be clear.

The official score listed Tommy Dee in the box at the end of overtime.
It's probably no coincidence that the "1's" and "7's" on the BG jerseys are difficult to differentiate. JST is 21, Tommy is 27.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Even though Tommy Dee was listed as the penalty it should have been marked as JST.
