Well, the penalty was announced against Dee, right? If the wrong player is assessed a penalty in real-time, is the coach expected to be a clairvoyant or something? None of this is making any sense to me. I need to go to bed. But I don't WANNA!BGDrew wrote:Even though Tommy Dee was listed as the penalty it should have been marked as JST.

Re: Game Thread: Bowling Green vs. #12 Nebraska-Omaha
This is ridiculous. The refs should have never allowed an ineligible player to participate in the first place. If an ineligible player shot for BG in the shootout, and the refs didn't catch it, and no complaint was filed immediately following the game, then that should be the end of it. It would be sheer referee/conference official error, and nothing else, BG should get the 2 pts and the SW.
But again, the stats show that our guy in question was never penalized in the overtime, so what's causing the holdup? Give BG the 2 pts already!

UPDATE:
The CCHA has decided that there will not be a decision made tonight. The officials up in Michigan have decided essentially to just "sleep on it" and something should come down tomorrow.

Maybe the ref just couldn't tell the two apart...Bleeding Orange wrote:Well, the penalty was announced against Dee, right? "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Just let us know who the officials were for the game so we can make up fun chants about them for the next time they officiate one of our games...

McInchak (of course), and Berkebile. McInchak called almost all the penalties, as he is wont to do. Berkebile is new to me.toddpav wrote:Just let us know who the officials were for the game so we can make up fun chants about them for the next time they officiate one of our games...
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Without shootouts, this game's a tie....Shootouts suck!

When it comes to the NCAA this game will be scored as a tie. The only question is the points for the conference standings.

If I were the referee, and I gave the black guy a penalty at the end of the game, I'd like to think I'd notice him in the shootout.BGDrew wrote:Even though Tommy Dee was listed as the penalty it should have been marked as JST.
This looks very bad on the CCHA's part.
Apologies if I offend anyone with my word choice.

Re: Game Thread: Bowling Green vs. #12 Nebraska-Omaha
I agree about the officials messing this one up, but Coach also has to know the rules when it comes to penalized players and shootouts. I think it's much ado about nothing and that BG will be credited with the W, but I wouldn't be shocked if the league did something to screw over BG. If they do, I hope the team doesn't suffer a setback of any kind.
