Gluten Free recipies

Post by PGY Tiercel »

Does anyone have experience with gluten free diets. My oldest has been placed on one for her Tourette Syndrome, it does seem to be working. Any way, I'm looking for easy dinner and lunches for a 9 year old. My wife and I are working into this but any ideas would be helpful.

I personally have never been on a gluten free diet, but I have known a few people, including one pretty close friend, who has Celiac's disease. (sp?)

I was surprised at the availability of gluten free foods at the local grocery store once one starts looking. I don't have any really strong suggestions, but I'm sure that once you start looking for those items in the store, you'll see how many options there are. Many familiar foods have gluten-free versions, so she should be able to enjoy quite a few of the foods she once did.

(Heck, Anheuser-Busch even started making gluten-free beer called Redbridge a few years ago, and I think there have been a few other breweries which have followed suit. Not saying you should give your daughter some beer, just using it as example of how even beer has a gluten-free option now.)
