Just got home from work...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Yeah, 3rd shift started last night. I was able to catch 3 quarters at home and part of the 4th at work...but not the end of the 4th. Logged on when I had a chance to the official site and saw the final...freakin eh. Made the long night and tired morning worth it. I recorded the game when it was rerun at 2 AM so I did get to see the winning drive. It was awesome!!

We had 3 rushing TD's last night. That was cool. Great to see Mahone back making plays. The D adjustments after the half were sweet as silk. BG really shut down UB after getting rolled over in the 1st half.
Tyler and Freddie just keep at it...single coverage on Freddie with the game on the line? Wow, Turner, you're smarter than that.

Feels great after the UB meltdown of '08...sure, the title wasn't on the line but man it is still sweet. This team is more than capable of winning the final 3 games and getting to 7-5. The next one is the one I wanted most all year. They are gonna be fired up after winning their first game so we just need to play ball.

WAY TO GO BG! BEAT MIAMI!!

Is he?

I found it curiously amusing in the first quarter how the announcers were loving all over how special he was and what a great coach, all while showing his 18-27 record at UB on screen. And considering roughly half of those wins came last year? Yeah...

Of course he won a MAC title with a previously abysmal program, but still, the contrast was laughable.

I was invited by a group of friends that I don't get to see too often anymore for tacos at a local Mexican restaurant. We met there at 7:00 and I was disappointed to see that they didn't have TVs in their dining area, so I wasn't able to catch the game at all. I got home and flipped it on to see BG losing 16-29 with about 9:00 to play in the 3rd quarter.

Obviously from that point on it was a very good game for BG fans. So I have a much different perspective on this game than most of the folks who watched the entire thing. I thought our defense looked as good as I've seen it all year. The running game struggled, and Tyler wasn't exactly sharp, but the receivers were wide open for him the entire second half. Barnes, especially, was abusing his man, but for whatever reason Tyler wasn't looking his way as often as usual. Still he caught the game winner, and that's all that really matters.

So yeah, nice win for the Falcons. I'm thankful I got to see the good parts of the game :)
