Next year is marked as a 11 game season as well as the seasons to come after that. There will probably be some debate about going back to 12 game seasons, but I doubt this could be changed in time for 2005. It would be a scheduling fiasco trying to setup a 12th game at this late date...and actually much later before the change could be made.

As of now the next scheduled 12-game season is in 2008. After that it isn't scheduled to happen until 2013. The following link explains it a little better:

Coaching Staff Performance ...
I felt like the coaching staff did a great job in this game. Memphis scored on some big plays in the first half and DeAngelo Williams piled up some yardage in the first half. It appeared, though, that the coaching staff made some great adjustments at the half and really shut down the Memphis offense in the second half. Granted, Williams got hurt at the end of the third quarter, but we had held the Tigers scoreless in the third quarter with him available. The coaching staff and the team really redeemed themselves in the second half in this one and I was thrilled that a great group of seniors, as well as the rest of the team and coaches, got to go out with a big win over a quality opponent. My hat, like many others, goes off to Coach Brandon, not to mention Coach Stud and Coach Beckman. Coach Stud called quite a game down there, and Coach Beckman made the proper adjustments at the half. I can't say enough about the performance of our coaching staff in this one.

Coaching was great! The only call I hated, and it happened in the Toledo game I think is when we decline penalties. They seem to back fire on this team. In certain situations you would decline penalties, however the one in the first half and the one in the Toledo game I thought we should have accepted. Take the yardage and make them throw deep. By the way, I think it was a 10 yard holding penalty we declined in the Memphis game.
I wonder what everyone else thought. I knew he was going to decline it, then also felt that Memphis was going to convert, and they did.

By the time we declined a penalty the third time, our little group was collectively yelling: "Take the yardage!"
There's an old saying about doing things the same exact way and expecting a different outcome ...
