Congrats from Mizzou fan

Post by brignatious »

Hey y'all (don't really talk like that, but thought I'd perpetuate the stereotype just the same), I just wanted to give you guys props for tonight's game. That was a he!l of a win, and a he!l of a comeback. Great, great job by your guys showing up big on a Nationally televised game. Sheehan really impressed me down the stretch of that game, and that last drive was Brady-esque. Great win for you guys. Good luck and keep it up! Hope to see you all playing during bowl week.

I don't want to take all the credit, but I think my drinking really had a lot to do with this win. For the first half I was stone cold sober, but then the wife and kid went to sleep and out came the booze. I am still drinking in delight of this win. (I wonder if I keep drinking, will it guarantee victory next game?)

Oddly enough, I've had the same experience for every BG game yet this year. If I'm drinking while I watch/keep track of the game, we win. If I'm at work or elsewhere where I'm not drinking while watching or keeping track of it, we've lost. In the case of the Mizzou game, I was at a party, drinking and keeping track of the score. I left the party and we were winning, but because I left, I stopped drinking. By the time we arrived home, the game was over and we had lost. I don't need to get hammered, just be physically consuming alcohol apparently. ;-)

You know what...I had not been drinking at all last evening and then I saw a Jameson commercial and had to get a glass...that was about the beginning of the 4th quarter...I wonder if this would work for the Browns.....

Just another reason to permanently sell beer in the Doyt. And if this works for the Browns, then I'm getting sloshed every Sunday.

As for the original reason for this thread, it's clear Mizzou fan is only happy because us winning makes them look better.

Yes, let's take a nice compliment from an opponent and turn it into trash. :(

I don't think God could make the Browns better.

Agreed, Transfer. Come on, VDub! I remember this guy being very nice before the BG/Mizzou game, too.

And as long as we are assessing alcohol's influence on the course of last night's game, I think I may have contributed a bit, too. I didn't get home from work until just before halftime, and shortly thereafter broke open my first Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Ale. Enjoyed those throughout the second half. :)

Clearly a trend is emerging. Guess we know what we have to do for the rest of the season now. :drinkers:

While it doesn't include any booze, I started eating some Wendy's as the 4th quarter began...

So...seriously, how is this different from any other game? :drinkers: :partyman: :supz:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
