I got to meet the legendary Noah!

Post by bruejam »

I have joined the minions of faithful Falcons who have had the privilege and honor of meeting Noah and 87Alum. My wife and I were near them at the parade, and then had a chance to hang with them for a bit during the pep rally. Noah was clearly pumped, as I understand he always is, and we enjoyed the time spent talking with 87... especially hearing about how he obtained "permission" to attend the game with Noah!

Overall, the game was an amazing experience. I certainly didn't expect anything like this for my birthday, and even with some minimal travel headaches flying in to Dayton, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Great to see you there! Trust that you had safe travels home.

Hope your wife is figuring out how to top that gift!

Yeah, the trip home was a little exciting, but we managed to make it. We flew out of Pensacola at 1:50 (50 minutes late), landed in Charlotte at 4:15, left Charlotte at 7:00 (3 hours late) and landed in Dayton at 8:30. We had to wait on the runway for almost an hour before a gate opened up. Our car was blocked by a pile of snow that was a little higher than the rear bumper and extended about 4 feet behind the car. Thanks to the help of a friendly plow operator, we managed to get out of the lot and on our way. We made it home to Cincinnati by about midnight.

We were much more fortunate in our travels than many others. We were glad to make it home in one piece!

I don't know how my wife is going to top that gift... she'd better start working on it right now. :D

Sounds like you did pretty well, all things considered. Glad to hear that you got home safely!

As for next year's gift ... tell your wife to keep New Year's Eve open, because the Falcons may give her an easy way to top this year's gift!

Bruejam,
I think I'd rather have taken the delayed flights and burried cars over the almost 21 hours I spent on the bus home with the rest of the band. However, seeing's how that is my ONLY gripe for the trip, I'd say things went pretty good.

It was 21 1/2 hours, Chris, actually, if you don't count the meal stops. :P

And I got to meet Noah briefly at the pep rally too! :D

Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hello. When I saw Noah high-fiving a band member, I assumed it was you, but the FMB was about to bust loose, so I didn't want to interrupt!

'87, it was a pleasure to meet you and Noah. Wish we could have talked a little longer. Maybe next time. I hope your trip was uneventful. We hit an icy area around the other Bowling Green (KY), which slowed our return trip to Lexington. Other than that, not to much trouble.

UK:

Great to have a few minutes to chat with you and your brother. Thanks for helping Noah find a better vantage point for the post-game! Glad to you had a relatively quiet trip home.

I used to live in Lexington. Whereabouts do you live?

I live on the north side of the city in a relatively new subdivision off of Georgetown Road. Where did you live? I've been here in Lexington since the summer when I took a posistion with UK and have really grown fond of the area.

I lived two places ... one was an apartment complex called, I think, the Rainforest ... or something similar. I also lived in the second floor of a house near Brookings, which had some of the best chili I've ever had. I spent many afternoons just shooting the breeze with total strangers there. Awesome. Also remember a great restaurant called A La Lucy's ... the menu changed every single day. Best place for a date.

I've lived in four states and worked in five. Lexington, KY is probably the nicest of the lot.
