Xavier Game FSOhio Change

Post by AyZiggy97 »

It looks like FSOhio has a few conflicts with Xavier games at the same time as Blue Jackets or Cavaliers. One of them is the BG game on Tuesday. It appears that FSOhio will be showing the Cavs, while BG-XU will be on Fox Sports Cincinnati.

Don't you get both Fox Ohio stations?

I thought most of the state did, on most cable providers. I always got both of them on Time Warner, and still do on DirecTV.

BG and a few other areas get both, but most get one or the other.

And by the way, it's not really FSOhio and FSCincinnati. They're both FSOhio, it's just that, they have two regionally available FSN's, one more Cincy-based, and one more Cleveland-based. This used to come in handy a lot more when the Indians were still on FSN, as the Cincinnati FSOhio would show the Reds and the Cleveland FSOhio would show the Indians. (All I can say for that is thank goodness BG carried the Cincy one as well so I could still watch Reds games when I was there.) Anyway, having the regional split was their way of remedying those kinds of schedule conflicts. (*Cue shooting star followed by a rainbow...* "The More You Know")

Anyway, since I'm in Dayton now, our default FSOhio is the Cincy one anyway, so I'll be able to watch the BG/XU game just fine.

I'm in BG have Time Warner and the only FoxSports channel I get that I know of is channel 36. Anybody know what channel number the other FoxSports would be for the game tomorrow?

They used to use 22 (i think that was it... somewhere in the low-20's) as the other FSN when the two would differ. That's as recent as this past May, when I moved back here, so unless things have changed since then, you should theoretically be able to find it.

I get FSOhio and FSN Detroit....I think it's the Cinci version of FSN Ohio because they clear the Reds Games...but then thay also show the Cavs sometimes so maybe it's Cleveland. Oddly enough...they black out the Blue Jackets...I dunno WTF is going on ...there's so much contradictory evidence.

They'll both show both Reds and Cavs games. It's who they show when both are playing (which one preempts the other) that is the tell-tale sign of which FSOhio you've got.

Hey BG Fans,
Xavier fan here thought I might be able to help a few of you in the Cleveland area. I have always been able to watch the Xavier games when there has been a conflict on FSO's backup channel using Time Warner. I live in the westside suburbs of Cleveland and the channel I get the game on with Time Warner is 310. The channel title is FSNBJ... there will not be any type of programming description for the channel. I get the channel standard with the regular digital package (aka if you have a box). Side note... there is usually a half hour pregame show done by the announcers on Xavier and the game.

Hope this helps some of you and good luck... well not that much luck until after this game.

Thanks for posting that info. Xavier fan. I'll pass it along to someone I know that lives in that area.

Fox Sports Cincinnati is channel 661 on DirectTV. I get both Ohio Fox Sports stations.
