"I'm going to pick up the wounded and move on. We have to do our part now. Dr. Cartwright is clearly behind this. She wants this to succeed."

Good stuff from a classy guy.
Boy, I sure hope Freddie reads this. Hopefully a couple of times.

I HAVE read this (at LEAST twice) and agree with Mr Vivian's statements 100%. I'm not sure what Bleeding Orange is trying to say...but if he's inferring that I feel differently, he's WAY off base.
Is it possible that he's got me confused with 'freddiethefalconbg'?

I hope MANY people have read this and reflected on their action both publicly and privately over the past year. There are many apologies owed to Dr. Cartwright and Greg Christopher! They are doing their jobs very well and have lots to do to keep the big picture for the department and University in focus.

Not once did I say it was the opinion of others. I'm just offering empirical proof. Many people said we would not have varsity hockey because the administration no longer supported the program and wanted it cut. We STILL have varsity hockey, so the administrative support must be present on some level.

I LOVE how the negative comments, that had NO BASIS, about Dr, Cartwright have stopped. But now it feels like Greg Christopher is in the cross hairs of many. I guess I can use past logic, because it was so spot on  , to explain this shift in attack. Dr. Cartwright came from Kent State where hockey was dropped from varsity under her watch. Thus, she is against college hockey and is looking to stamp out the sport wherever possible. Greg Christopher came from Purdue University, which does not have a hockey program. Thus, he is looking to eliminate the hockey program because he just doesn't understand the sport.

Does that about sum it up?????

I can't WAIT for the hate reply's on this one!! If anyone has additional PROOF to disprove me, let's hear it!

All I'm going to respond with is kindly take a look at the announcements from the University about the hockey team. Notice who it is making these announcements. One name is absent, if you catch my drift.

Like Jack said....it's time to move on and stop rehashing what happened in the past. There were a lot of us who had opinions, both good and bad, but it doesn't matter now. I REPEAT...IT DOESN'T MATTER NOW!! Bottom line...HOCKEY IS SAVED. PERIOD!! Everything is moving forward. It's time to move on. PLEASE!!!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. Ah, perhaps I did. Sometimes I feel like everyone who posts in this forum has the same name. haha Sorry for any confusion.

I do think that - whoever I was talking about - people need to get over the hatred and general distrust of Cartwright/Christopher/anyone in a position of power. Yeah, last Winter and Spring sucked when everything was up in the air and no one knew what was going to happen with this program. Now, we know, and things are safe.

Are things perfect now? No. Are they ever going to be? Maybe with a $100 million endowment for the program, but that ain't gonna happen. So, instead of automatically assuming that the lack of quality in our marketing, facilities, concessions, etc. is some sort of wicked scheme by someone in a dark cloak to destroy the program slowly over time, why not just employ a modicum of common sense and realize that the money just isn't there to achieve perfection. That doesn't seem so hard to me, but it seems to be for a lot of folks around here. But, given the way that the program has been treated over the last decade, I can somewhat understand being given to conspiracy theories. It is the entrenchment that I don't get.

Last spring this program was all but dead.....don't delude yourself into thinking otherwise. The only thing that saved this program was the outrage from the community and the much longer than anticipated meeting that the former players had with Dr. Cartwright at the golf outing. To Dr. Cartwright's credit, she took everything to heart and took it upon herself to do everything in her power to keep this program alive. For that we are all eternally grateful.
