They left the ESPN talking heads apologizing for how they were supposed to have been better than what was being shown. The effect was to have them basically saying "no, seriously, they really aren't this bad." That really helps recruiting!
Craig James couldn't even sound serious trying to talk-up their QB when he didn't even rank in the top three of the conference. Most of the quality talk was of other players at other schools and their future in the NFL. Not once did they a future with in the NFL for anybody other than their German center. The body bags being hauled off the filed the entire second half took on an almost comical quality. The half-hearted effort by the defense was an embarrassment to the MAC as much as that school. And yet again, Amstutz the Hutt was basically mocked on national TV by way of comments and now the silly bobble-head doll commercial.
I was especially amused by BGSU running national ads during the second half.
I can understand their having issues on offense. The meltdown on defense was what really grabbed my attention. They just looked like they didn't cared to be in the game.
They suffered the "Perfect Humiliation." At least they looked like they wanted to play the game when Boston College blew them out.
I regret the MAC taking a lump for dropping the game, and I hope the bus full of injured players heal up quickly. I'm looking forward to next November.
